MUM WRITES

If you like what you see at Mum Writes, do drop me a line. If you think my writings meet your requirements, really feel free to drop me some lines.

About Me

I'm a mother to three school-going daughters and a baby girl, and a wife to a supportive husband. Was an English teacher prior trying my hands at writing.

For the past year, I wrote mostly during my free time and found that writing was indeed enjoyable. I write mostly on health, family/parenting, personal stories and tips/how-to's.  With some computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS FrontPage) that I have, I plan to go further and venture deeper into this field.

I've a degree in Chemistry from University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and a Diploma in Education. Did my high school education at an all-girls boarding school in Malaysia.

My achievements include being awarded Excellence Service Award to government servants by the Ministry of Education(1999) and successfully coordinated the launching of a school project, Global Schools Network, which was spearheaded by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC), Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Current Work

My writings are mainly article contributions to Mother & Baby (Malaysia) magazine which involves

research/fact finding (from both print and online publication and attending workshop)

interviews (using several modes of communication -- face-to-face, e-mail & telephone)

photo taking (a camera and a scanner -- software used : Ulead and Photoshop and recently acquired a digital camera).

My most current works were on the F1 Grand Prix experience in Sepang and another, on a family holiday in Port Dickson. Both were submitted for online publications (Note:  I Once Had A Son, is my first published online article -- www.oicexchange.com) and I hope to have my other works published in both print and online media.
