The silence and tranquility of Sanctuary was suddenly disrupted by a loud THUD followed by a male voice yelling in pain. All of the inhabitants of Sanctuary went to investigate at a trot. �Are you okay?� Shalimar asked as she stopped in the area that doubled as Brennan�s gym area. Brennan was sitting on the floor holding his foot cursing under his breath at the free weight that was rolling across the floor. �Fine,� he responded through clenched teeth. Shalimar snickered and shook her head. �What happened?� Jesse asked as he came up behind Shalimar. When he saw the scene before him, he had to cover his mouth to prevent the laughter from pouring out. �Brennan, did you drop a weight on you foot again?� Emma asked Elemental who was obviously in pain. �No.� Brennan retorted in a strained voice. �Brennan, how many times do I have to tell you to let that muscle you pulled heal?� Demanded Adam. �But I HAVE to work out!� Brennan whined. �No you don�t.� Emma replied. �You need to let yourself heal or you�re not going to have any more toes to break.� �How many toes is it now?� Jesse asked laughing as he helped Brennan up. �Six.� Shalimar responded. �Man you�ve only got four more to go.� Jesse laughed. �No, I re-broke my big toe, still only five.� Brennan winced as Jesse helped him into a wheelchair. �The gym is now off-limits to you Brennan.� Adam informed him. �Go watch TV like a normal guy or read a book.� �I think I�ll go to a bar.� Fin Author�s Note: Those who know me and my �why�s� understand! |
