Welcome to the

Task 1

All the students aren't from a Hogwarts and probably haven't tought of the same thing as the others. To not do as it is written in the Potter-books might be a good thing. Here is exactly the same text the champions got when they did the task:

"Now it's your turn. Everyone else have already done the first task.

You step out in the sunshine and stand in front of over a thousand people sitting on benches in a half circle around you. What are you confronting? A giant spider! It's at least three times as big as Hagrid, the biggest person you have ever seen.

A voice on your right starts to explain:
- Your task is to grab that little box behind the acromantula, the spider. You are free to use anything you have brought with you and anything you can get, but you are not allowed to go outside the arena.

(Give an exact description of how you actually do the task by answering the questions below.)"

After the champions finished the task they got the box. Inside the box is a hint to the second task.

Name : Sarah, 32.
First tought (max 10 words): Just Run past it
Short description of plan A: Just try to run under the legs
If Plan A doesn't work: I'll think of something else
Plan B, if you have one: summon flys

An exact description on how you did the task: I'll using the Summining Charm(accio) and summon as many flys as I can. THe spider will hopefully go for the flys. I will also try to send a stunning spell to its eye. I will then run to the box.

After the task you feel/think: I could have done better, but I still survived

24 November 2003 19:58:52
Time used: 4 minutes

Summer raised her wand after the first Champion, Sarah, had performed the task. A silver "6" shoots out of it. She had received the box, but the tactic wasn't the best. The spider didn't fall for the flies at first, but the girl had gotten away.

Headmistress Hilary said: "I give Sarah 10 points because the use of something in the area is smart. Also she also only used four minutes to get the box. But there is a chance that the spider may have thought she was better than all the flies."

Jenna, headmaster of Jenna's Hogwarts, awards Sarah with 9 points.

Headmistress Jen: I give her 11/15 points, she doesn't sound so positive that her plan is going to work, most of the other competitors were more sure of themselves. Other than that the idea was fine.

And finally the word of Head judge Kathy Moonshine: "You have an exelent way of thinking that will bring you far in this competition. You were good and got to the box very fast. That is why I award you with 13 points. Thank you for your performanse."

If Plan A doesn't work: Won't work? Of course it will!

After the task you feel/think: I'm the best!

Time used: 16 minutes

Summer watched as the second Champion, Heather Malfoy, performed the task, this time taking more time. After the roar of the crowd had died down, she raised her wand. A silver "8" snakes out. The champion had been a little careless at first, but in the end, she had retrieved the box. Her way of performing the task was not original, but it had its advantages. As the champion made her way off the field, Summer sat back in her seat next to the other judges.

From Headmistress Hilary: "I give Heather Malfoy a 8 because her idea worked but was not original. She also did it in 16 minutes."

Headmaster Jenna awards Heather Malfoy with of 11 points.

Headmistress Jen: "I give her a 15, she shows that she is sure that her plan will work. She also put much thought and effort into the description, using very discriptive words, etc. She takes you step-by-step on what she is doing, which is what we're looking for. nice job!"

And Kathy Moonshine word or two: "What a show! It is still not a new trick, but you did it. And you survived the first task. I will award you with 10 points for that. great description of the task."

Name : Hermione Granger, 45
First tought (max 10 words): Uhh... (open mouth)
Short description of plan A: Accio Firebolt
If Plan A doesn't work: I'll think of something else

An exact description on how you did the task: I expertly grab my firebolt, hop on, make the Acromantule dizzy, and go for the box. I made an excellent choice in friends. Thank You Harry!!

After the task you feel/think: It's impossible to explain

Hermione Grangers comments before the task: "I don't know if the web URL is correct because I've been busy with school."

Time used: 14 minutes

Now it's the third Champion, Hermione Granger's, turn. Summer frowns as this girl's performance was a lot alike the last champions. This girl didn't get in as much trouble as the other one before her. Summer watched as the Acromantula got dizzier and dizzier. Soon, the champion had the box in her possession. Summer raised her wand and a silver "8" shoots out.

And Headmistress Hilary: "I give Hermione Granger also an 8 for the same reasons as Heather Malfoy."

Headmistress Jen: "I give her a 11, she doesen't really put as much effort into it as the others did. But I think the idea was pretty good."

Headmaster Jenna of Jenna's Hogwarts awards Hermione Granger with 8 points.

And the last points are given by Kathy Moonshine: "You aren't the first one to try that trick. You still got the box without getting injured and you surely have at least one good friend." A silvery number "9" gets up in the air.

Name : Kelso, 41
First tought (max 10 words): Outsmart, use distraction
Short description of plan A: To produce a replica of myself to distract the acromantula.
If Plan A doesn't work: I use plan B
Plan B, if you have one: Stun, confuse, freezing spells

An exact description on how you did the task: I produce a misty replica of myself and send it running towards the other side of the stadium, getting the spider's attention. I place a spell on myself, reducing smell so that the spider cannot be aware of my real self. I start heading away from the spider and towards the box.
I'm almost there, but the replica must of faded and it noticed me with its giant eyes. It turned around at a run. Ready for this and wand at hand, I choose to stun and confuse him. I take the box and run for the exit, sending an extra spell just in case.

After the task you feel/think: I could have done better, but I still survived
29 November 2003 15:59:31
time used: 48 minutes

Summer sighed and sat back, waiting for the next champion to walk out. Soon, the champion, Kelso, walked out. Summer watches intently as the girl produces a replica of herself to divert the acromantula's attention. The plan had seemed to work for the most part, but soon the acromantula turned its eyes on the champion, who was picking up the box. Sending spells in the direction of the acromantula, Kelso ran to the exit. After this was completed, Summer raised her wand and a silver "11" shoots out. This champion had a good plan, but she had to take points away because the girl had come close to being hurt and acromantula turned its concentration to Kelso after the image had faded. Good performance over all.

Headmistress Hilary: "I give Kelso a 4 because while it is a good plan, the person went over the time limit. Also, it is impossble for one wizard to stun this creature."
(Kelso didn't go over the time limit, but Hilary already gave the points)

Jenna from Jenna's Hogwarts awards Kelso with 13 points for a well done task.

Headmistress Jen: "I give Kelso a 15, they use really good detail in their plan, and it seems they know what they are talking about. I love the idea, it's something new, instead of just adding to what Harry did in the book like the other's did. nice job!"

And finally Kathy Moonshine: "The plan worked quit well, until it failed. You are still alive and you got the box. You didn't cross the timelimit, even if your task took a long time. I will give you 14 points for an exelent performanse. Thank you."

Name : Allie, 67.
Short description of plan A: im going to use the Stunning spell,to stun the acromantula
If Plan A doesn't work: I'll think of something else
Plan B, if you have one: use expelliarmus ,and ask the acromantula,if i may pass

After the task you feel/think: Get me to the hospital wing, quickly!

Allies comments before the first task: "I couldn't get to the site any earlier,im sorry,I've got high speed, but i dont no whats wrong"

05 December 2003 17:58:12
Time used: 19 minutes

Now, the final champion, Allie, walked out onto the field. Summer watched as the girl's first plan, hitting the acromantula with stunning spells, failed. Summer watched in disbelief as the girl started to talk to the acromantula. Suddenly, she darted out and ran strait to the box. Summer shook her head at the girl's folly. After she had received the box, and plenty of wounds, Summer raised her wand with the other judges. A silver "5" shot out of her wand.

Prof. Hilary: "I give Allie a 3 because it is most likely she would have been eaten by the spider. It also isn't a very good description."

Headmistress Jen: "I give her a 6, she didn't really come up with any idea, just ran for it. The other's did some sort of magic mixed in with theirs."

Headmaster Jenna from Jenna's Hogwarts awards Allie with 8 points.

And then Kathy Moonshine: "An acromantula is a bit too big to get stunned by one person and it hasn't got that much loose weapons either. It still took extreemly much courage to just run straight at the beast. That is why I award you with 8 points. I hope you get better soon."
