Recording Notes & Comments
Eight years, eight fucking years pass with Voivod carrying on without original vocalist, Denis Bellanger. In those eight years some other guy was the voice of one of metal's greatest, most unique & intelligent bands. The other guy was an absolute joke & made me embarrassed to say that I was a Voivod fan. When I told someone I was a fan it always came with a disclaimer, I'm a fan of pre-1993 Voivod & did not consider anything after that to be Voivod.
Well, the eight years passed & finally Voivod announced the triumphant return of the only man I considered to be Voivod's true vocalist. This recording represents their 1st gig as a reunited band. The recording lacks the sound quality that I normally require, but an exception had to be made for this one. The vocals are pretty buried in the mix but the instruments do come through relateively clear. Like the 4.27.2002 Toronto recording, this too lacks depth & has a lot of tape hiss.
This gig took place at a record store in front of 50 some, odd fans. The taper traveled all the way from New York to record it. Too bad he didn't have better equiptment. He's a good guy for taping it, so I'll leave it at that.

Artwork
This historical recording was made at the first reunion show with Snake on 2002 after a 10 year since they last played their show together.
The setlist is pretty interesting since it concentrates on mostly material from the band's early albums (War and Pain, Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross).
Interestly enough, there are no songs from The Outer Limits album and a song from AngelRat!
The sound is crisp and clear, and enjoyable considering this is an audience recording.
