Whilst contemplating the closing of our current poll, an action that will hopefully signify a new era in the history of our beloved group, a sinister notion entered my mind.
Certain members of this group might have judged me by the few inconsequential postings I have made and the despicable statements made by a few members of questionable morality pertaining to my AOL behaviour. Therefore, in addition to the work that I carry out on that ISP to promote the BDSM community, I have decided to start a group discussion!
Admittedly I was encouraged by the excellent dialogue initiated by Claire on a matter revolving around what we call our sexual partners, so as an extension to that topic I was wondering if any of you had special names for any of your BDSM implements. For example:
Cane: Sarah and I call ours "the cane".
Tawse: We have affectionately named ours "the tawse".
I fully understand that some of you may think I am not taking the discussion I am trying to hold seriously however, the problem of naming implements is complicated when you own multiple items that can be titled under one heading.
For example I own two crops, one of unknown origin and one purchased from a delightful shop just off the Falls Road in West Belfast. If I were to say, "fetch the crop", which one would be swiftly delivered to me? It's easier if you have titled the crop purchased from the delightful shop just off the Falls Road in West Belfast "the crop purchased from the delightful shop just off the Falls Road in West Belfast" and the one of unknown origin simply "the crop".
As I'm flowing, I was wondering if you ever really push the boat out during play? I might say something along the lines of "corner" and gesticulate to the exact corner. Maybe some of you are more articulate with your command saying "get over there to the 90 degree angle where the wall with the limited edition print of Michael Schumacher joins the wall that is located behind the television set?" Additionally, upon the arrival of the submissive into said structure I might say, "hands on head" yet you might say "head under hands?"
What a fascinating subject BDSM is your comments please
