DOCTOR LINK USER MANUAL

DOCTOR LINK (abbreviated as DL) is designed to transfer data
from the MGD2 and one of the many DOCTOR I/O. The installation
of it is very simple. First, switch off the MGD2 and the video
game system with the DOCTOR I/O (this is important) before
connecting the DL, otherwise the DL may be damaged. The DL has
two ends, one is smaller while the other is bigger. The smaller
end is connected to the MGD2 slot; the bigger end is a slot
which is connected to the DOCTOR I/O.

After installation, insert a DOCTOR CARD (1M, 2M, 4M, or 8M) if
you have not already done so. Turn on the power of the video
game system first, then turn the power of the MGD2 on after.
If this order is switched, the MGD2 will not see the presence of
the DL and hence the transmit/receive function cannot be used.

Now, the display on the MGD2 should show "GM". Pressing the
SELECT key once to change it to "SA", pressing it once more to
change it to "LO", and pressing it once more to change back to
"GM". So there are three functions which you can use. When you
are satisfied with the displayed function, press "+" or "-", the
left display now shows "G", "S", or "L", and the right display
shows a number. Pressing "+" or "-" changes the number up/down
in the range of 1-40. After you are done with selecting the
number, press the SELECT key and the right display of the MGD2
becomes a clock. If you have not inserted a disk, you should
insert it into the MGD2 now. Hence, "GM" represents the
transferring a game's data from the disk to the DOCTOR card, "SA"
represents saving the SAVE RAM data from the DOCTOR I/O into the
disk, and "LO" represents loading the SAVE RAM data from the disk
into the DOCTOR I/O. The number is merely a representation of a
file to be saved or loaded to or from the disk.

When the MGD2 is transferring game data from disk or loading SAVE
RAM data from disk, the displayed clock turns clockwise. When
the MGD2 is saving SAVE RAM data to disk, the displayed clock
turns anti-clockwise. The clock remains turning until the
process is finished, then "OK" is displayed. If an error
occurred during the process, an "E" is shown on the left of the
displayed. Pressing the SELECT key once now returns MGD2 to the
"GM" status.

With DL, you can SAVE/CONTINUE you desired games' SAVE RAM data
into disks infinitely (each disk can hold 40 SAVE RAM data file).
All you have to do is loading the SAVE RAM data back to the
DOCTOR I/O whenever needed. This is very useful and convenient.

With DL, you do not need to plug and unplug your DOCTOR card in
order to change a new game. All you have to do is while both the
video game system and the MGD2 are on, use the "GM" function to
transfer the game data. This is fast, and a wonderful way of
connecting the devices.

Note that whenever the DL is used for "GM", "SA", or "LO" once,
the video game system is freezing. All you have to do is
switching the MGD2 off, then switching the video game system off
and then on again.
