Q: Multiarcomage does not work on a computer without a network card.
A: Yes, this is by design. When MAM was first created it was specifically for multiplayer games so everything happening happens as network card traffic. The recent AI additions don't use the network card when talking to the host so it would be doable to create a version that works on a non-networked computer (if there is demand). But for now it's not a top priority as most people have some sort of network today and if you don't, installing a dummy network driver should be sufficent.
Q: The AI sucks.
A: You can do several things that might improve gameplay:
a) add more AI players (I play against 2-3 AI's most of the time)
b) set the starting production and resources higher (the AI plays better with less hard choices)
c) wait for us to put up some option sets that work well (same as you figure out your own using option b)
d) fiddle around with the values in aggr.AI (how important tower building/destruction is etc)
e) play against human opponents on the net (with a few added AI to mess things up if you want)
f) wait for new releases with AI improvements :D
Q: turn on sound, the game will become very slow.
A: This did happen on WINME but we don't experience any slowness with 2000 or XP. The sound is basically the WAV files ripped off the original, i.e. absolutely nothing fancy there. If people tell us what operating system they are using we'll investigate if we can make it better.
Q: It should have prompt when mouse is put on a card(such as move up a little or highlight).
A: It does give you a tip when you move the mouse over a card. That's not enough? We did "raise" the card a few millimeters in an earlier version but it was removed as a pretty useless feature.
Q: Default play turn selection setting should be fixed round, not random (to avoid AI play twice a time)
A: With random play everyone gets their turn but the player playing last in a round can obviously become first during the next round. That's how it's supposed to be. If you look at statistics you will see the two last players alive have played as many rounds (at most one more like 45 vs 46). We almost always play random turns.
It could be easier for a first timer to start playing fixed rounds so we might change that default option set.
Q: The black floating window "play turn this round" should be re-design for better appearance, or merge into main window such as at the bottom of it.
A: Yes :-). Several years ago we only had 5 cards, 800x600 displays and so forth and the current floating window was designed with that in mind. Right now with all the AI players it's difficult enough to see what cards were played in the previous turns that we might have to enlarge the windows to 1024x768 anyway.
That change would both add more "recent played cards" and let us integrate the miniwindow back into the game.
