Leads the team by example. A fine reader of the play, "Captain" Karl uses his great skating ability and hard slap-shot as his main tools. A physical defenseman and tremendous hitter. Out of the rink he loves the nightlife...he loves to boogie, but it never affects his game. #21 Jay Smolenski Defense Shoots: Right Born: Date Unknown Resides: Parts Unknown Notes: Solid defensive player and extremely "fleet of foot" Might place only second to NJ Devils "speedster" Ken Daneyko as far as speed is concerned. Even though he is mainly a stay-at-home defenseman (due to a lack of stamina), you can count on Jay to score 3 goals a game. Jay is now in his second season with Five Hole. #19 Matt Becker Defense Shoots: Left Born: July 30, 1972 Resides: Bogota, NJ USA Notes: A defensive minded blueliner, Becker will join the rush when the timing is right. Loves to start counter-attacks with a deft head-man pass. Not overly physical, uses his smarts to break up plays and remains almost unbeatable in a one-on-one situation. In the past has been the victim of some unlucky bounces resulting in deflections on or into his own goal, which he has not lived down to this day. #53 Lloyd Beazley Forward Shoots: Left Born: Resides: Pompton Lakes, NJ USA Notes: Lloyd has steadily improved over the course of his career. Is a large presence right in front of the net, keeping defenders occupied, where the majority of his goals are scored. Career development has been hindered slightly due to his longtime linemate and brother, Chris who when trying to get Lloyd the puck usually falls down. |
