It's almost that time of year again!

Your challenge:

Write a Halloween kidfic that starts with the following line:

" Seven*-year-olds are notoriously unreliable witnesses to the paranormal."

*the child this line refers to does not have to be seven; the sentence is just more coherent with an example age in it. S/he can be between the ages of three and eleven, and obviously changing the first word to the correct age is allowable.
