The saga that lead to replacing my computer all started the weekend before last. About a year ago my secondary Hard Drive unformatted itself after being scanned for errors. It happened again! This time, though, there was no obvious cause for it to suddenly not to remember it's formatted. It even renamed itself drive G insteat of K! This is the drive I keep 90% of my MP3s, videos and Sims downloads on, so I was much less than thrilled that it crashed on me.  I spent about 4 days trying to restore things from my amnesiac drive, before buying some software off ebay that really did work and recovered things to the new external drive I bought. So I figured by TH that the problems were solved.

Oh, no. A different program that was supposed to optimize your system kind of killed mine Friday. It wouldn't boot for 2 days until I got instructions on how to access the recovery drive. By Sunday I'd had enough and decided that it needed to be replaced sooner than later. But they wouldn't sell any computers over the weekend =( Because of stupid Vista, you see. I didn't want a computer with Vista on it, but you can't get any with XP any more, unless you want to take your chances on ebay. Call me crazy, but ebay isn't somewhere I want to make a very expensive purchase like that

So I ended up having to wait until yesterday to buy a new computer. And I soon discovered that the wireless card I already owned wouldn't be supported by Vista, so I had to get another one. I picked one that was supposed to work, but the Vista drivers came with no instructions, so I had no luck getting it to work last night, either. Luckily I was able to find instructions this afternoon and it's finally working. ::wipes brow

So those might not be three terrible terrible things like the death of a loved one or what have you, but how often do we had three disastrous things happen to us rather than merely bad? Not too often, God willing!
