So this is the first poem I've written in a few years. I'm rusty, I know, but I don't think it's god-awful, so I guess I'll share. As I'm sure you realize, I'm not of the "poems need to rhyme" school of thought.

Coward

Someone needs to tell you
That you can't do this forever
Someone needs to tell you
That you can't just wait for things to happen
But you wait and wait and wait

At the rate things are going you'll never get out of there

You just waste time unsatisfied
Waiting for love you never act upon
Waiting for recognition that never comes
Waiting for space you never find

Because is it's too hard to try

And you never leave what's easier
Even if it kills you inside

It's because you're a coward
Too afraid to make things happen

And you're going to get old and bitter


Knowing that you never tried

You can't do this
I can't do this
