MALNUTRITION

The physique of this road
should have been robust.
The chest should have been square and smooth.
The neck should have been muscular.
I should have possessed of strength to hold
incessant journeys,
incessant vehicles upon it.
But the road
is malnourished.
Haggard,
tattered,
skinny
the road is lying upon deathbed.
Dramatically,
its ailment alights upon its bosom,
from a sleek car,
in a regal pose.
Carrying a robust body,
wrapped in a beige skin,
the ailment tramples the road.
Its soft feet
are lifted up and stamped down,
stamped down and lifted up.
