The Mountain Goat is a small animal with short legs.  It's fur is yellowish-white, long and shaggy in winter and shorter in summer.  It has a beard and dagger-like horns.  Age  is determined by the rings on horns.  It lives in mountainous regions above timber line in the Alaskan Yukon, British Columbia, South West Alberta, parts of Washington and Montana.  It's main predator is the cougar and occasionally  kids will fall prey to the Golden Eagle.  The largest population is in British Columbia at about 100,000.
