Bobcat
The bobcat's color is tawny brown above, dotted with blackish spots along midline of back.  It has a short tail, short ears with dark ear tufts.  Often mistaken for lynx, the bobcat has shorter legs and smaller feet, it is not as well adapted to living in the snow as the lynx is.  Can grow .75-1.2m or 2-4feet.  Preferring hardwood forests, rocky mountainous areas and brushy scrubland.  Snowshoe hare is the bobcat's main prey but it will feed on small rodents, reptiles, insects.  It is a solitary hunter congregating only in mating season.
