Great Canadian Sharks
Most people don't concider Canada as one of the most likely places to find sharks.  There are actually about 14 species of sharks that visit our coastlines.   I myself was very surprised to learn that the occasional great white has been caught off the shores of our Maritime Provinces.
                 Porbeagle Shark

Also known as the mackeral shark.  Can be found from Newfoundland to Gulf of St. Lawrence, Bay of Fundy and the Scotian Shelf.
                        Shortfin Maco

This shark dominates the ocean.  Some believe that it is the fastest fish in the ocean.  They usually stay in deep water and are known to attack boats that are in their territory.
                                    White Shark

A coastal shark feeding on mostly marine mammals.  Growing seal and whale populations may entice this fish inshore.  Now protected, more sightings are expected in the future.  Some believe it can reach 30 feet in length but the longest recorded is 21 feet.  Although rare in Canadian waters, they have been caught off Deer Island in the Bay of Fundy, Campobella Island New Brunswick and a 17 footer was caught off Prince Edward Island in 1983.
