A Time Not Long Ago
One day I was feeling blue and letting life's daily challenges get me down.  I recieved this poem through e-mail from my daughter Crystal.  It was just what I needed to lift my spirits.
There was a time not long ago when I
Had neither life not love apart from you,
All you said was absolutely true,
Nor could I see myself save through your eyes.
Kids have a sense of life, but don't know why:
Your love alone gave my world it's hue.
Of all the things that touched me, there were few
Untouched by your bright song or inner cry.
My luck, then, to be so finely loved.
Of you my life was sculptured, bright and free.
The graceful architecture of your heart
Had it's twin whichever way I moved.
Even now, though we have lived apart,
Recalling your love makes me glad to be.
                I love you mom

If you scroll down, reading the first letter of each line you will get the message that every mother loves to hear.

Family Ties
Family ties are precious things
   Woven through the years
Of memories of togetherness,
Of laughter, love and tears.

Family ties are cherished things.
   Forged in childhood days
By love of parents, deep and true,
By tradition and family ways.

Family ties are treasured things
And far though we may roam,
The tender bond with those we love
Still pulls our heart towards home.
