CPU ( Central processing Unit )
More Terms & components and Definitions coming soon

The CPU is Computing part in the computers, it consists of  ALU Arthematic logic unit , we can also call it is the brain of the computer . it looks like chip , or microprocessor .

There are different companies making CPU for desk top , laptop , hand held computers , Intel , AMD ,, etc ..

The power or processing speed is depends on the clock speed of the CPU , its like 866MHZ , 1.2 Ghz
1ghz  or  2.8 , 3 ghz  speed ..

The clock speed is the speed at which the microprocessor executes instructions , the faster the clock speed ,  then the compurter is faster , it executes more instructions per second .

RAM ( Random Access memory )
RAM is  acronym for  Random access memory , that means can be accessed randomly , it consists of memory cells , any cell memory , bytes  can be  accessed

Different types of RAM :

  1. SDRAM  ( Synchronous DRAM )

   2. DRAM  ( Dynamic RAM )

   3. SRAM  ( Static RAM )

Both types of  RAMs are volatile , that means they lose their contents on power off or rebooting the computer .

Static RAM  needn't to be refreshed , like Dynamic RAM , DRAM needs to be refreshed thousand times per seconds , refreshing makes it faster ,

DRAM is cheaper compared to other types of RAM

Hard disk
A  Hard disk is removable rigid  disk in the computer , it stores data and access faster than compared to other drives like Floppy or CD's or DVds . it basically contains  rotating magnetic disks that spins rapidly .The platters in the hard disk fixed to a spindle on each side of platter there is a read/ write head . and each plaltter is devided in to tracks and sectors .

in other words Hard disk is a  mass storage device for digital data. One or more magnetic platters in a single casing, it can store data more precisely and access it more quickly than other forms of magnetic storage.

usually Hard disk capacity depends up on the  Storage capacity like  20 , 40gb , 80, 250gb ,etc ,  and  rpm , transfer rate .

Mother board
Mother boards is the basic circuit board in the computer , Usually all the components  like  CPU ,  Hard disk , RAM , video card , LAN card , or sound card  , Floppy drive and CD/DVD rom Drives are conncted to it .

The main printed circuit board in a computer that carries the system buses. It is equipped with sockets to which all processors, memory modules, plug-in cards, daughterboards, or peripheral devices are connected.

an picture of mother board looks like below
CD/DVD drives & Floppy drives
CD/DVD drives are  optical drives , which are used to read / write on CDs or DVDs

there are CD / DVD  read/ writers are available in the market , usually available in internal or external CD drives ..in single CD we can store about 700 mb of data .

where as floppy drives these are magnetic types  we can only store 1.44 mb of data , we have different kinds of floppy drives also available with more storage , they called as zip drives .
