| Gorillaz - Demon Days | ||||||||||||||||
| Kinda Like: Pink Floyd and Ice Cube cut a techno album The Scoop: Plenty of melodic Vocals, feel good techno beats, grungy noise, agile rap, and a little Dennis Hopper. Mellow, the kind you dance to all night long. Me likey. |

| System of a Down - Hypnotize | ||||||||||||||||
| Kinda Like: Hanging out with a pill popping radical activist who is bipolar The Scoop: Excellent follow up to Mezmerize. Not quite as solid, but still containing infectious lyrics, hardcore riffs, a tiny hint of disco, and more message. Yes, there is even deep meaning behind Terracotta Pie. A little heavy for easy listening, but great for the mosh pit. Very rebellious. |

| Savatage - Poets and Madmen | ||||||||||||||||
| Kinda Like: Imagining a moonlit London night. Maybe some low fog, a ruined opera house, suddenly rushed by a power-ballad longhair eighties band The Scoop: Interesting combination - dark, gothic dreams flow together with political discontent and religious absolution. I especially enjoyed the song "Morphine Child," the sweeping centerpiece to a masterful album. Be warned, a few of the lyrical choruses jump out like nails on a chalk board, but with powerful intent. |
