UPDATE 4(June 8, 2001)

As my surgery date gets closer and closer (June 12, 2001) I can't imagine what it will be like to no longer have to contend with taking care of this ileostomy!! I've had it for so long now that its become part of me. I don't know how some people can live their whole lives with one! I know I couldn't. There are so many things that it interfere's with, you couldn't imagine. Its so difficult to sleep at night with the bag flopping from side to side. I can't sleep on my belly. I have to practically stay in one position all night long which can make you sore all over!!. Then, if it fills up you have to get OUT of bed and go empty it..talk about inconvenient!! It is SUCH A HUGE bother having this ileostomy!! I never knew that your life could depend on whether or not you have enough bags to last you until you are allowed to order them again. I've came pretty close to running out, and it did raise my blood pressure!
