November 2000
Nothing exciting really happened in november. I went back to my surgeons office for another appointment. This time while I was there the surgeons nurse explained to me that she was going to have to put a tiny little tattoo of 4 pin-point dots. I was more scared than in pain from it. Just seeing the tools that they use to do it scares you to death. Its really not that bad. There was some black tatoo ink, and some needles. They didn't numb the skin or anything before doing it. They just dipped the needles in the ink...and used some type of tool to hit the needles on the oher end, so they would go into my skin and imbed the ink there, leaving 4 black dots. They formed a square. I always said that for my 21st birthday I was getting an operation done!, AKA My bowel resection. Little did I know what the future held, it would be more than one operation after tons and tons of complications after the first one. And the third time isn't a charm after all, that's what I would learn in the future as well. My bowel resection was scheduled for December 5th, 2000.
Lots of preparation, lots of things to do before my operation. I had so many plans on what I was going to do after recovering from this bowel resection. My surgeon kept saying how wonderful I was going to feel after the operation. That I was going to feel like running a mile. I wasn't too sure about 'running the mile' part, but I really did believe this was going to be the miracle cure for me, and after this I was going to feel so much better. Having that diseased section of bowel, of course would make you feel lousy. Having it removed should make you feel lots better. I was willing to try anytyhing to feel better, and this seemed to be the thing to try. Ahead, full throttle! Lets get this operation done with, and move on!
