Today I woke up and was still sick from the week before. The previous week I missed all my appointments because I just was to sick to go to them. I called my regular doctor, and his office told me he wasn't in today. The next doctor I called was my pain clinic doctor. She said she could see me at 1pm. When I got to her office she said I looked really bad, and she started making calls to get in touch with my regular doctor. Finally she did, and he wanted me to go to the ER at UPMC where he worked at. My Mom and I left the pain clinic and went to the ER at UPMC in Greenville. They admitted me for dehydration and pain control, and because my SED rate was so high, idicating a Crohn's Disease flare-up. I was admitted into UPMC in Greenville Hospital. The first day I just slept alot, and My Doctor came in to see me around 5pm. He wrote my instructions, and I wasn't allowed anything by mouth, and I was given a few shots of steroids during my stay to see if that would help. My Roomate was sent home, and then later on I got a new roomate who had been moved out of the intensive care unit. My bed wasn't by the window. I wish it had been. This night was okay. I slept good, except when my roomate would get loud.
Nothing really happened this day. My Doctor asked me to start thinking about getting a feeding tube placed down my throat for extra nutrition since my blood was so bad, and since the TPN was a bad idea, and could really set my chronic pancreatitis off. That's the last thing I wanted to do. But, also getting a feeding tube up my nose and down my throat was also the last thing I wanted to do. I didn't want to have to gag on it all day and all night long. That would be horrible. I didn't want to have to do that. Tonight wasn't a good night at all. I asked to be moved to a new room at 2:30am because my roomate had gotten alot sicker, and her family starting pouring into the room around 1am, and it was very disrupting to me. Everyone had to walk past my bed to get to the other side of the room.
I asked if I could just go home, so he left me go home. I thought I would do better at home, and I didn't like being in the hospital anymore. There was just way too much going on. I had been moved the night before at 2:30m because the woman next to me had gotten really sick, really fast, and she had about 6 family members in the small tiny room, where I was at too. I was so glad to go home. My doctor didn't mind sending me home since I was so bothered to be in the hospital. I hd gotten some good days of fluids and got built back up that way. Even though my blood wasn't the greatest, and I didn't feel the best, I was still happy to go home today.
