Samantha And Jesus

I guess the most intriguing aspect of Samantha's young life, is her love for Jesus. In eight years, Samantha has been to church a handful of times. Yet, from the time she was able to communicate, she has been totally infauated with Jesus.

I remember Tina taping an airing of "The Glory Of His Resurrection" - a TBN special about the life and times of Jesus. From the evening she first saw it, she was mesmerized by the life and teachings of Jesus. Although communicating is, at times, difficult, no one has a problem seeing her love of God manifest itself.

I have seen her take her dolls, open the drawers in the kitchen, and close them on their hands...thus, leaving them to hang...like Jesus. She can tell you all about how they whipped Jesus, and how they put him on the cross. She is so intense when she tells someone about Jesus.

We live across the street froma Holiness Church, and when Sam is very upset about something, she wants to go to that church, and look at the stained glass windows. It always makes her feel better.

But, I guess the most amazing thing, to me, is her honest desire to go where Jesus is. Most of us are so obsessed with our own lives...we want to go to Heaven someday, but are really just as content to be right where we are...at this moment. But not Samantha! If the opportunity presented itself, she would go, in an instant...just to be able to sit on His lap, touch His cheek, and sing to Him - like the little girl in her favorite movie.

I have heard of child-like faith all my life, but, never really saw it, until Samantha introduced me to it, firsthand. If I were unsure about the existence of God, the way my little girl reacts to the mere mention of His name, would convince me, totally, of His reality.
