MUEN: HI GUYS, I CAME ACROSS YOUR MYSPACE PAGE AND LOVED WHAT I HEARD. WHY DON'T WE START WITH YOU GIVING US A BRIEF HISTORY ON THE BAND. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING TOGETHER, WHO CAME UP WITH THE NAME UNDER THE FLOOD, AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH US.

UNDER THE FLOOD: Hey Shauna, this is Dave, thanks for taking the time to stop by and check us out. We're so glad you're diggin the music! The band started about 2 years back with my brother Matt(Guitar), his best friend John(guitar), and myself(vocals). We started writing, and then added Kenn(bass) and Dan(drums) into the mix. From there we got management, started touring, and things started moving pretty quickly. The name of the band was actually the title of a song in my old band, and we liked it so decided to use it. Sorry there wasn't some crazy story behind the name, if you come up with a cool one, I'll start telling that to people when they ask.

MUEN: IN YOUR BAND WHO WRITES THE LYRICS AND WHO WRITES THE MUSIC? WHO WOULD YOU SAY YOUR INFLUENCES HAVE BEEN?

UNDER THE FLOOD: I write all the lyrics, and my brother writes most of the guitar riffs. From there we'll jam it out and John will write a lead line to it and Dan will put drums to it. I'd say my top 3 bands at this moment are A Perfect Circle, The Mayfield Four, and Dark new Day. Maynard and Myles Kennedy are definitely my greatest vocal influences, huge fan of those guys.

MUEN: SO TELL US ABOUT YOUR DEBUT CD "THE WITNESS". WHEN WAS IT RELEASED? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO RECORD? WHO DESIGNED THE CD JACKET? WHERE CAN PEOPLE PICK UP A COPY OF THIS AWESOME CD?

UNDER THE FLOOD: Our CD was released the first of this year. We were pretty rushed in the process with studio time frames and such, so we pretty much pumped out 10 songs wrote and recorded them in about 2 months. Our producer Brian Craddock, now guitar player for Daughtry, designed all the artwork for the album. At this point you can only get our CD offline or any of the digital download outlets, but we're in the process of making bigger things happen, so I would predict our CD to be available world wide in stores sometime next year.

MUEN: I NOTICED IN YOUR BLOG THAT YOU HAVE LISTED THE PHONE NUMBERS FOR PEOPLE TO CALL IN AND REQUEST "IN VAIN". ARE YOU GETTING MUCH RADIO PLAY?

UNDER THE FLOOD: We currently have a radio campaign running in all of those listed markets. We're getting lots of spins on those stations. If you live in those areas and haven't heard our single "In Vain" yet, just call up the number and request it! The more people we get callin in, the more plays we'll get!

MUEN: WHAT IS THE MUSIC SCENE LIKE IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA?

UNDER THE FLOOD: The scene there is more of a jam band/Dave Matthews scene as a whole, but there are definitely those in our town who support us and are always up for some good ol' rock n' roll.

MUEN: YOU'VE BEEN DOING SOME TOURING. WHAT ARE YOUR LIKES AND DISLIKES ABOUT BEING OUT ON THE ROAD? WHAT KIND OF RESPONSE ARE YOU GETTING AT THE SHOWS?

UNDER THE FLOOD: Likes: Sharing every waking moment with Blue Thunder(our van), Not having good AC, Seeing new cities, going new places, meeting new people, performing every night, 1/2 lb cheesy bean and rice burritos.

Dislikes: Heat, Naked dudes, sweating, speeding tickets.

MUEN: TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH DEAN GUITARS? HOW DID IT COME ABOUT?

UNDER THE FLOOD: That was actually something our management set up for us. The guys at Dean are awesome! They really liked our sound and gave us a full guitar, bass, and drum endorsement. We're actually the first unsigned band in the 30 years of the company to receive a full endorsement.

MUEN: I DIDN'T SEE ANY VIDEOS ON YOUR PAGE. HAVE YOU MADE ANY OR ARE YOU GOING TO BE SOON?
