OF THE CURSED!

THE CURSED

Interview by Metal Mike

THE CURSED, is a new band featuring vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (from OVERKILL) and former HADES guitarist Dan Lorenzo. The new album titled, "Room Full of Sinners" on Screaming Ferret Wreckords is out now. The CD was completed at Crystal Studios in New Jersey, before and after OVERKILL's successful stint on the Gigantour, which also featured MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD. Mike Koenig from Crystal Studios engineered the album.

THE CURSED, also features bassist, Job The Raver (MURDER 1) and drummer Mike Cristi (NON-FICTION)... the following is an interview with DAN LORENZO by Metal Mike (MUEN Magazine)

Metal Mike: What was it like forming a band, not knowing what the future may hold?

Dan Lorenzo: I constantly worry about the future, as far as "can I retire in 14 years?" But when you start a new project I think I just worry about how the first rehearsal sound, And if the band could or could not click and the reasons behind this. So Im just curious about the first rehearsal and not too far beyond this.

Metal Mike: Who's Idea was it to form The Cursed in the first place?

Dan Lorenzo: I wanted to write some songs with Blitz as I consider him a friend. After we had about 3 songs togther we decided to form a band.

Metal Mike: As a hard and heavy thrash sound background preceeds you, what inspired this new sound?

Dan Lorenzo: This is probably the "real" me...this style which is way more like Non-Fiction than Hades. comes natural to me.

Metal Mike: What is next for The Cursed, as Bobby has Overkill and there is talk of no tour?

Dan Lorenzo: It all depends on the CD sales, if we sell enough I would love to do more.

Metal Mike: What is in store for Dan Lorenzo? Any new solo cds or new bands in the future?

Dan Lorenzo: I would love to do a "best of" my 3 solo cds with some new tunes. Tim from Sreaming Ferret said we could talk about that in August.

Metal Mike: What is your fav track on the new cd "Room Full Of Sinners? Mine with out a doubt is "Evil in the bag"

Dan Lorenzo: It changes ...track 3 "Sweeter", sometimes Queen Of The Down... I love the whole cd.

Mike: How did you get involved with Myspace?

Dan Lorenzo: Bass player from Amish Outlaws insisted I start one.

Metal Mike: Do You think that it has helped promote music in general?

Dan Lorenzo: Absolutely, I'm getting more email than ever from people who hear and buy my solo cds, people who never even heard of Hades.

Metal Mike: Just wondering why some bands only have partial songs on thier player? As most have full length songs. I personally think the full length song promotes your music better, as individuals are able to get a feel for the music. But thats just an opinion and what the hell do I know?

Dan Lorenzo: Well people who have Cds would prefer you paid for their songs...

Metal Mike: Well there you have it! Check out their new Cd Room Full Of Sinners, and check out Dan's old band Hades if your not familiar, And we all know Overkill, so support 'em and Keep Metal Alive. You can check Metal Mike and The Montalians fullmetalreview on myspace for the hottest new bands or some kick ass old ones as well.~Metal Mike
