MUEN: WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THE SONG "NOTHING?" THAT SONG REALLY GRABBED OUR ATTENTION - GREAT HOOK AND MELODY... AND HOW ABOUT "KEPT" ... SEEMS A LITTLE ANGSTY ... ARE YOUR SONGS USUALLY WRITTEN FROM REAL LIFE SITUATIONS?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: Being able to recognize and admit mistakes youve made is one of the hardest things to do. You have a choice to do something about it .. or you can do nothing. Learning this choice is what inspired me to write this song. All the songs are written about real life situations and experiences. Writing lyrics is a way to evoke an emotion or cleanse myself of something negative. Kept is definitely about abandonment, which would explain the angst you are hearing. Each song contains a specific feeling or meaning that we personify with the music. -Jacob

MUEN: WHAT IS YOUR NAME "SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE" SUPPOSED TO MEAN?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: Isaacs father used to ride in a mini van and was rarely ever pulled over (if ever) although his vehicle sometimes contained some borderline illegal contents...... He had a catch phrase for this situation which he called "Suburban Camouflage" (spelled correctly). Isaacs father Doug S. Fletcher (a musician himself) was a very influential person in our lives and in our early musicianship. The name Suburban Camoflauge is a tribute to Doug S. Fletcher, one of the most inspiring people we have ever met.

MUEN: YOU GUYS DO A LOT OF LIVE SHOWS, AND LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE SOME DATES COMING UP THROUGHOUT GEORGIA, FLORIDA, AND ALABAMA.. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE VENUES YOU WILL BE PLAYING, AND HAVE YOU PLAYED ALOT OF THEM BEFORE?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: The Powerstation (Macon GA), Soho (Columbus GA), Ground Zero (Spartanburg SC), Lubys (Lawrenceville GA), The Metro (Melbourne FL), Studio 80 (Jacksonville FL), The Guitar Bar (Savannah GA), Tastyworld (Athens GA), The Rock Shop (Fayetteville NC), and The Nick (Birmingham AL) are all venues that we have on our schedule and have played before. We will be playing for the first time at Buffalos (Auburn AL), 9th and Main (Jacksonville FL), Newbies (Panama City FL), Marion St. Cafe (Lake City FL), Franks Front Row (Daytona FL), Island Traders (Dublin GA) and many more to come. We update our schedule weekly.

MUEN: WHY DID YOUR PREVIOUS DRUMMER LEAVE, AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW DRUMMER ELLIOT...

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: Our close friend Eric Hodges had other aspirations he wished to pursue. He still remains a very close friend to us. Elliot has also been a close friend for a long time. He actually played in Isaacs older brothers band for a few years. Elliot is a hard hitting rock drummer to the core. He was born to play the drums. He learned tons of musical background from The Atlanta Institute of Music and continues to push his abilities to the limit. Get ready for some hard hitting drums on this next album!

MUEN: ARE THE REST OF THE GUYS IN THE BAND ALL ORIGINAL MEMBERS, AND HOW DID YOU MEET IN THE FIRST PLACE?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: The rest of us are all original members of Sub Cam. We all went to Brookwood High School together. We used to hang out and skateboard back in those days. After we graduated we formed the band. We used to have our friends over to listen to our first jams/songs in Isaacs basement where we rehearsed almost every day. As our lives continued we had to overcome a lot of things together. Because of this we have grown to become a family and a team.

MUEN: IS THE UPCOMING ALBUM YOUR FIRST? AND TELL US ABOUT WHY YOU DECIDED ON LEDGE STUDIO TO RECORD IT..

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: The upcoming album is not our first album. We recorded "As Quiet as Your Thoughts" January 07 and a Self-titled EP in 05. "As Quiet as Your Thoughts" was our debut album, which was recorded at Ledge 7 Studios in Dallas GA. We are extremely excited to be working at Ledge 7 again on this album. We love working with our producer Tony Copley; he is a big part of our team. Tony is an incredibly talented and an amazing person to work with. We have already begun recording our second full length album. We have not released the name of the album or the release date yet, but we will be releasing the first single off of the album in May 08.

MUEN: WHY DID YOU DECIDE ON "AS QUITE AS YOUR THOUGHTS" FOR THE TITLE OF THE FIRST ALBUM, AND DID YOU HAVE A LOT OF OTHER TITLES IN MIND BEFORE CHOOSING THIS ONE?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: We decided on the title because it describes the album the way we see it. It is for the listener to decide. How quiet is it when youre screaming in your head.....

MUEN: HOW WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO BUY THE NEW ALBUM, WHERE WILL YOU HAVE IT AVAILABLE TO BUY ONLINE?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: We will have the album available at Ledge7.com. We will have a pre-order once we have the album being pressed. We will be releasing all of the information about the pre-order and release dates in the spring.

MUEN: HOW MANY SONGS WILL BE ON THE ALBUM, AND CAN YOU NAME ANY SONGS THAT YOU CANT WAIT FOR US TO HEAR, THAT HAVE NOT YET BEEN UPLOADED TO THE INTERNET?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: There will be 10 to 13 songs. We have already finished tracking three of them and we will be back in the studio for the next months. "Sorry" and "Where it Ends" are a couple titles of songs on the new album.

MUEN: HOW DO YOU LIKE ATLANTA? AFTER SEEING YOUR INTERVIEW ON VID, IT SEEMED LIKE YOU WERE HAPPY THERE.. MUST BE A LOT OF COMPETITION THOUGH, WHAT DO YOU THINK MAY SET YOU APART FROM SOME OTHER BANDS?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: We love Atlanta! It is a diverse and fun city. There is a great music scene here with a lot of talented bands. We dont really consider other bands as competition. Sub Cams combination of personalities is what sets us apart from other bands. The music we create is 100% real, created from real life experiences. For us there is no other way to express who you are through music than to be ourselves.

MUEN: SO BEING YOU LIKE THE TOURING, DOES THIS MEAN YOU WILL BE TOURING EVEN MORE AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE ALBUM, AND HAVE YOU DONE ANY SHOWS WITH LARGER ACTS YET?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: We will be touring more and more as the years progress. We are playing about 12 -14 shows a month right now, but we are taking on more and more as we spread out. We have played with several larger acts including Saliva, Nonpoint, Rehab, Boy Hits Car, and Black Stone Cherry. We also play the 2007 Vans Warped Tour in Atlanta with bands like Bad Religion, Pennywise, Throwdown, Norma Jean, Killswitch Engage.....

MUEN: WHICH OF THOSE LARGER ACTS DID YOU MOST LIKE OPENING FOR, AND WHO ELSE DO YOU THINK YOUD BE COMPATIBLE TO OPEN FOR, IF GIVEN THE CHANCE?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: All of the larger acts we have played with were all fun in there own way. Sub Cam would be compatible with bands like Alice in Chains, STP, Tool, or anything that is hard hitting grungy rock.

MUEN: WHAT DO YOU HOPE FOR IN 2008... WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN GOALS FOR THE YEAR?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: We have several goals for the year. Our first main goal is to complete our second album with Ledge 7. We will be releasing new designs and art for merchandise. There are several other projects we are working to complete for Sub Cam fans. Our goal is to continue to grow and create real music.

MUEN: SEEMS LIKE YOU HAVE A LOT OF HARD-CORE SUPPORTERS, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY TO THEM?

SUBURBAN CAMOFLAUGE: From the first people that saw us play to all the new friends we have made, we appreciate every single one of you. You know who you are. We are so proud to have such and incredible group of people who support what we do. We have connected with some amazing people along our journey and we wouldnt trade it for the world. There are no other fans like Sub Cam fans! We will always rock harder and harder for you because that is what we set out to do. This is going to be an awesome year! Get ready to see some new Sub Cam shows and hear some new Sub Cam music because HERE IT COMES!!!
