Charles Roberts
(Dallas, TX)

CHARLES ROBERTS (SEIVE)

MUEN: HEY! SO WHAT'S UP? LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT SOME AIRPLAY ON FORBIDDEN RADIO! HOW WAS THAT EXPERIENCE FOR YOU?

CHARLES ROBERTS: Im speechless! The reactions that we're getting from people are amazing! Its nice to know radio exists outside the doors of my car these days. Forbidden radio Rocks!!

MUEN: WHAT ELSE NEW AND EXCITING IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?

CHARLES ROBERTS: The finishing touches are being made on the album, so we're all anxious! The fans "die-hard" anticipation for a show is exciting too!

MUEN: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE DALLAS AREA?

CHARLES ROBERTS: We've been down here in Dallas since the beginning.

MUEN: IS THIS CD THE OFFICAL DEBUT THEN?

CHARLES ROBERTS: Yes it's the official debut. I've done two other c.d.'s that I backed with about 300 some odd shows.. those c.d.'s really never saw the light of day though... this c.d. is being released on a whole new playing field so to speak. With the advent of i-tunes and other download sources, this one has been able to reach people in previously unprecedented amounts. We are very thankful of this technology.

MUEN: SO WHO ALL WILL DO THE LIVE SHOWS WITH YOU?

CHARLES ROBERTS: In the live arenas I will be accompanied by my brother/producer/bassist,Tyler Roberts, former SLOW ROOSEVELT drummer, Gabe Muzquiz, former SPACE CADET guitarist, Aaron"ARLO"Long, and rounding out the unit is Aaron "Bloodbath" McGrath on guitar as well.

MUEN: HOW MANY SONGS ON THE ALBUM, AND WHAT MOST INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THE SONGS? ALSO, WHERE DID THE NAME SEIVE COME FROM IN THE FIRST PLACE?

CHARLES ROBERTS: There is going to be 13 tracks at the moment... what inspired the c.d.? ..a woman.... the name has been around for about 10 years.... it's meaning is somewhat deep...... I'll quote my favorite song by one of the greatest singers EVER!!!! Richard Patrick of "Filter!" "I gotta' seive inside me, I gotta' no win point of view" from "Take Another" off of "Short Bus".... and plus when I came up with it... SEIVE sounded cool after two weeks!!!!!! That's my test... "if it sounds cool after two weeks then it was a winner!!!!!"

MUEN: AH YEAH THAT'S A GOOD WAY TO TEST THE NAME, THAT'S SORT OF WHAT WE DID WITH YOUR MUSIC.. WE PUT IT ON THE PLAYER, AND THEN IF IT STILL ROCKS IN A FEW DAYS, AND WE'RE NOT TIRED OF IT.. WELL THEN.. HERE WE ARE! HOW DO YOU LIKE THE DALLAS AREA, AS FAR AS BAND AND ARTIST SUPPORT GOES? IT SEEMS TO US THAT THERE IS ALOT OF GREAT TALENT RISING UP AROUND THERE AND ALSO AUSTIN, TX..

CHARLES ROBERTS: That is so cool of you to say that!! Glad to hear you were soaking up the sounds!!!! Dallas has been real cool when it comes to rock (HARD ROCK!!! That is).. I've been very lucky to work with some of the best talent in the world.. Dave Williams from Drowning Pool was a very close friend of mine for many years. I so miss that guy. He asked me to produce a C.D. for them so I did and then Creed hooked 'em up. The rest is history... I've also been working with Frank Cavanaugh the bass player from Filter.... Fair To Midland also comes to mind. Serg from System of A Down signed them. So yeah Dallas, Texas has become quite a hot bed for killer hard rock music.

MUEN: AND WHAT ABOUT RADIO? WHAT RADIO STATIONS IN YOUR AREA ARE SUPPORTING LOCAL UNSIGNED TALENT THE MOST?

CHARLES ROBERTS: Well, KDGE 102.1 The Edge is a huge supporter of live local music. They don't know it, but they are going to do great things for us!!! I've been in the studio for almost two years finishing this c.d. so I don't get out too much...

MUEN: ARE YOU LOOKING TO BE SIGNED WITH A LABEL, OR ARE YOU GOING TO TRY IT ON YOUR OWN AT THIS STAGE?

CHARLES ROBERTS: Oh yeah.... I want the big deal in the sky... there is just no way I could promote this music the way a major label could.. they have unlimited funds to make sure your heard in every major market... I could try to do it myself and haven't done to bad a job thus far, but my energy needs to be focused on a tour and playing the most killer show anyone has ever seen!!
