The intro for this Metal Maiden will definitely be added onto as most of which you see here at the myspace is more a prelude to bigger things being planned, but one thing that really goes without saying, is that METAL SANAZ is at the very least, one of the strongest and most respected supporters of Unsigned/Indie/Metal artists (not to mention even not so metal) on myspace... and this all because the woman is "real" and truly cares about the artists she works with. Like she says, "I am a fan just like you!" and "I couldn't do what I do without the support of you!" ... "you" being all you who continuosly show your love for Heavy Metal and Metal Sanaz alike... This is not an easy business to be in, on or off myspace, and it's the support of her fans that keep the engines fired, and uplifts Metal and Indie for "everyone!" There are lots of others out there that do similar work, and they are deeply respected as well, but being we are focusing on Underground Rock Divas all summer here... the choice was pretty obvious, as to who would make the cover. Heavy Fuckin' Metal Baby! That has been the Metal Diva's slogan for quite some time and ...It just rings truth!


MUEN: FIRST OF ALL, THANKS FOR DOING THIS... IT'S AMAZING HOW YOU CONNECT WITH YOUR FANS AND AT THE SAME TIME UPLIFT THE CAREERS OF OTHER ARTISTS AND BANDS... WHAT EVER POSSESSED YOU TO BEGIN DOING THIS, ANYWAY?

METAL SANAZ: I have always been a huge fan of Metal Music and once I was given the chance to actually be a part of it, I thought I should help as well. I just remember the time when I was just like any other fan, wanting to know more and wanted to find a way to connect with my favorite bands. So now that I have the chance to do this for others, I want to do it right. But I'm still a fan. And that's never going to change.

MUEN: WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU BECAME "METAL SANAZ" AS WE KNOW HER TODAY?

METAL SANAZ: I was waiting tables, hahaa... until I was offered to do movie reviews on a Persian satellite TV station. But I am not really into movies so I told them I wanted to host a Metal show. The Station was shocked 'cause they thought there is NO Metal fans in Iran! That really upset me 'cause I knew they were wrong. But after talking to them and making them understand things from my point of view, they gave it a chance. The show never aired though, 'cause the station got shot down, but HOLLYWOOD MUSIC TV found me on myspace and asked me to be their Metal VJ. So that's where I started, and my first interview with them was Otep. Now I'm on my own. At this moment I'm not working with any one, but things may change !

MUEN: YOU WERE ONE OF THE FIRST THOUSAND OR SO TO JOIN MYSPACE.... DID YOU EVER IMAGINE THAT MYSPACE WOULD BE AS POPULAR AS IT IS TODAY?

METAL SANAZ: No ! I was shocked! A friend of mine made me sign up on Myspace, just like he made me sign up on Friendster. I would have never thought that this would change my whole life.

MUEN: WHEN DID THINGS REALLY START TAKING OFF FOR METAL SANAZ? DID IT SEEM TO COME ALL AT ONCE, OR WAS IT A GRADUAL CLIMB TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW... WITH REGARDS TO FAME AND NOTORIETY ON MYSPACE?

METAL SANAZ: It took some time, and a lot of hard work. I didn't want to be just another face with a bunch of friends for no good reasons. I mean, if you want to spend this much time on something, you better do something GREAT with it. And it worked out that way for me. I owe it all to the people and friends that have supported me through this.

MUEN: HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT, OR ATTEMPTED TO DO TELEVISION AGAIN?

METAL SANAZ: You will probably see me on TV pretty soon ;)

MUEN: YOU MUST BE EXTREMELY BUSY... ARE THERE DAYS WHERE YOU JUST SAY FUCK IT, AND STAY HOME (OR STAY IN BED) EVEN WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SOMEWHERE?

METAL SANAZ: Yes, I have. But then seeing that I'm helping connect bands with fans and making people smile and laugh, ...it makes me think again. Like I said before, I owe it all to the friends who support me. If no one cared , I would have stopped a long time ago. But they cheer me up with their comments and sweet emails. I can't let them down. And I WON'T!.

MUEN: WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR "ALL TIME" BEST FINDS (IN TERMS OF BANDS OR ARTISTS? AND FOR WHAT REASONS ARE THESE BANDS/ARTISTS YOUR FAVS?

METAL SANAZ: Oh there are soo many of them. I try to promote them on my page as much as I can. They deserve to be heard ! Just cause they are not signed , doesn't mean SHIT ! I know more indie bands that are way better than most signed bands out there. They sound great, they work hard and they are FUCKIN GOOD ! There is no other reason .

MUEN: BEFORE BECOMING THEE METAL SANAZ, WHAT WERE YOUR ASPIRATIONS AS A YOUNG GIRL GROWING UP? DID YOU HAVE ASPIRATIONS FOR MODELING? OR MUSIC FROM THE BEGINNING?

METAL SANAZ: No not at all. I never thought of being a model and I still don't think I'm a model type. I also never thought of doing what I'm doing right now. I mean, I'm no journalist or anything. I just always loved Metal from the age of about 7. And now I feel honored to be a part of the scene.

MUEN: DO YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST BAND YOU EVER INTERVIEWED?

METAL SANAZ:The very first person I interviewed was John Densmore of the DOORS, but it never got aired.

MUEN: WHAT BAND IS THE MOST UNFORGETTABLE? FOR GOOD OR BAD REASONS? HAHA!

METAL SANAZ: Ahhhhhhhhh SLAYER ! For alllllll the good reasons.

MUEN: IS THERE A BAND YOU WILL TELL US THAT YOU LIKED AT ONE TIME, EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT BE EMBARRASSING TO ADMIT IT TODAY?

METAL SANAZ: I love a ton of Embarrassing music ;) .

MUEN: HOW DID YOU FIRST MEET UP WITH SCUM OF THE EARTH (Riggs: former White Zombie guitarist)? AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN THEM IN THE STUDIO?

METAL SANAZ: I met Riggs before Myspace at my birthday party at the Rainbow Bar and Grill. And I loved the music. I was there the entire time when he was recording the first album, so when the second one was on the way, I had to be there!

MUEN: WE HEARD YOU EVEN DID VOCALS ON THE NEW ALBUM!!! WHAT SONG DID YOU DO ON THE UPCOMING "SLEEZE FREAK?"

METAL SANAZ: Yep! I did "Love Pig." It's very sleazy and naughty.

MUEN: WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN ORDER TO "GET AWAY FROM IT ALL"... YOU KNOW, LIKE WHEN YOU GET BURNED OUT WITH ALL THE ENTERTAINMENT STUFF... WHAT DO YOU DO THAT IS NOT RELATED TO MUSIC?

METAL SANAZ: I really haven't had any time for myself in a long time. But if I get the chance to relax, I would like to start drawing again. But at the moment, its not gonna happen. There is just way too many things I am working on.

MUEN: DO YOU GET ALOT OF ENDORSEMENT DEALS? I MEAN, YOU KNOW... WHAT PAYS THE BILLS?

METAL SANAZ: Nope, nothing yet. I'm doing this all on my own and with the help of some good friends. No one is getting paid. And that includes me as well. I do it cause I love it.

MUEN: WHY DO YOU "NOT LIKE" EMO SO MUCH?

METAL SANAZ: Life is too short to be down and shit. Get over it! Get up and be strong and stop bitching about shit. That's all they do ! hahaha cry cry cry.

MUEN: WHERE ARE OTHER PLACES TO FIND METAL SANAZ ON THE NET, OTHER THAN MYSPACE?

MUEN: DO YOU HAVE CERTAIN PEOPLE THAT DO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY? OR DO YOU SWITCH AROUND WITH DIFFERENT PHOTOGRAPHERS FOR YOUR PROFILE PICS AND THINGS?

METAL SANAZ: I love working with everyone. I have my favorites, but I love giving everyone a chance :)

MUEN: HOW DO YOU CONTINUALLY MANAGE TO STAY APART FROM ALL THE IMITATORS IN THE BUSINESS? HAHA!

METAL SANAZ: There have been a few people that I wished I had never worked with, but live and learn right ? Its kinda hard some times 'cause I tend to trust people too much. This is a crazy business with a lot of people who are not what they say they are.

MUEN: HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT (OR HAVE YOU EVER) POSTED A BABY PIC OF YOURSELF?

METAL SANAZ: I will, just for you ;)

MUEN: OK THANKS :).. OK SO YOU WERE BORN IN IRAN RIGHT? ....HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU LEFT THAT COUNTRY? AND DID YOU COME STRAIGHT TO L.A. FROM THERE, OR NO?

METAL SANAZ: Yes I was born there and I left when I was 5. I lived in Spain for 2 years before I moved to Dallas TX. But I always traveled after that.

MUEN: IS IT ALSO TRUE THAT YOU ARE WANTING TO PROMOTE BANDS FROM IRAN?

METAL SANAZ: I would love to help the bands that are good , no matter where they are at. And since bands in Iran have a hard time with everything, I would like to be able to help them out. After all , that's where I come from.

MUEN: WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT FEMALE FRONTED BANDS, I READ COMMENTS ALL THE TIME ABOUT HOW THERE ISN'T ENOUGH OF THEM, BUT IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE THERE ARE "LOTS" OF THEM!!... WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THAT?

METAL SANAZ: I love seeing strong females. I think we can never have enough female fronted bands. They teach our girls to be strong and deal with life. Its very important to have roll models that are not just there for a pretty face, and shaking asses and being a sex object. Metal is a hell of a life style. empowering and dealing with reality. Being strong.

MUEN: I'VE NOTICED THAT SOME OF THE BANDS YOU PROMOTE ARE NOT REALLY METAL, SOME NOT REALLY AT ALL! HAVE YOU ALWAYS "MIXED IT UP" LIKE THAT, OR IS THIS SOMETHING FAIRLY NEW?

METAL SANAZ: I LOVE Metal , but I do listen to other types of music as well. And I am not ashamed to let people know about it. If they can Move me, I love them.

MUEN: OVERALL, WHAT HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE BEEN LIKE IN THE PAST 5 YEARS? WOULD YOU SAY THEY'VE BEEN THE BEST YEARS EVER?

METAL SANAZ: I've been doing this for 3 years now, and it has been a hell of a ride and the best thing that has ever happened to me.

MUEN: EVEN THOUGH I KNOW YOU LOVE ALL YOUR FANS.... WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE PISS YOU OFF THE MOST, YOU KNOW... LIKE WITH THE POSTS AND COMMENTS? HAHA.

METAL SANAZ: The stupid ones ! hahaaa... spammers, and fake people. And also the ones that hate me, but won't block me . I mean if you fuckin hate something, why on earth do you look like you are interested in it! Get a fucking life and shove it up your ass. lol

MUEN: ARE YOU A VEGETARIAN OR SOMETHING? HOW IS IT METAL SANAZ, THAT YOU STAY SO BEAUTIFUL?

METAL SANAZ: Hell NO. I eat all the time, and I love chocolate. I can't diet 'cause I love eating. Junk food RULES!

MUEN: IF THERE WAS ONLY ONE PARAGRAPH THAT WOULD BEST EXPLAIN YOUR LOVE FOR YOUR FANS, HOW WOULD IT READ?

METAL SANAZ: I can't thank my fans enough, no matter what I do ! They are the reason I'm doing this and I hope one day I could repay them all. I would like to have enough money to get everyone a ticket to come over to LA and have a big ass metal fest with them. I love them very much , and some times reading their comments or emails, brings tear to my eyes, ..gives me hope and makes me stronger. Thanks for everything....

MUEN: WHAT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO BE DOING 5 YEARS FROM NOW? WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF? OR WHAT MORE DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IN THE BUSINESS?

METAL SANAZ: There is soo many things I'm working on right now, and I got my hands full. But in 5 years, I would like to maybe have my own record label, TV station, or what ever else I could do to help Metal bands. The whole goal is METAL BABY !
