MUEN: Hi Francesca, I hope it is all well with you. Welcome to MUEN Magazine.

Hallo! Thank you very much it's a pleasure to be here.

MUEN: First of all, I would like to compliment you on your voice and for the songs that have filled the hearts of all your fans.

Thank you!

MUEN: So tell me a little bit about the band. How was it formed and how did it first get started? And tell us a little about the musicians who play with you..

The band was formed in 2004 when me and Tank (guitarist) wrote a song together. We thought it was pretty cool and decided to start a whole project with it. The song was "Can you hear me?" included in the album. I write and play with Tank for many years and we called Simon (a friend of mine since my high school years) on bass and Lakk on drums. Lakk left the band last year and Bob is now our official drummer. Bob is Simon's best friend so when we are on tour we feel like travelling with brothers and we always have the best time. I love all the guys in The LoveCrave so much!

MUEN: How did The Angel And The Rain album come about... (recording, difficulty, choosing songs)?

Our main problem is and will always be the budget. Our head thinks big, we want our music to sound great but unfortunately it isn't always easy to do when the budget is low. So "The Angel And The Rain" is our little miracle. We worked for hours on every single sound to push it to the limit and the result is unbelievable considering the tools we had. The song writing has always been our strength, we never record a song if we don't think it's great so we'd rather put 10 good songs in a record instead of 20 average ones. Of course it's our opinion but it's sort of a philosophy that we will keep following.

MUEN: Tell us a little bit about the overall sound of THE LOVECRAVE, for people who have never heard you.

We are mainly a rock band. We like the rough street rock attitude on stage and we like to keep it a little more "clean and nice" on the recordings. We want people to hear something different when they come to our shows. We like to mix electronic with hard rock, gothic with punk, pop with metal. It's just a big mix of all the music we've always listened to.

MUEN: Do you feel that videos are important for the music, do they help at all?

Sure they can help. Expecially in our case. It has been a pity that we could not film a video for "The Angel And The Rain" album. For the next album we will sell pizzas on the street but WE HAVE TO MAKE A VIDEO!!! hahahah!

MUEN: ahahah sounds good!

I really like the The Angel And The Rain album cover. I really thought that was cool. Two years later, looking back on it, how do you feel about that album?

I think it's a great album ... yeah I know ... it's like asking a mother if she likes her child... but I can hardly hear good albums nowadays with more than 3 good songs... The Angel And The Rain has way more than 3 good songs... of course if you like the music style.

MUEN: What was your initial reaction when you were signed by the German label Repo Records and how have things changed for the band since?

We were happy to sign with Repo, they brought us in the German music world and introduced us to Wod, our booking agency. Since then we played in some of the biggest festivals in Germany and travelled around a lot. I think they did a good job, we just hope that with the next record we will be able to take a step forward.

MUEN: Are you working on a new album? Have you already written any songs?

Yes the new album should be ready by the end of 2008 and probably will be released in the first months of 2009.

MUEN: You were nominated by the MEI Award: "Best Italian Band On International Ground" - presented by Rock Sound magazine. Any comments on this?

Yes we are thankful to Rock Sound, it has been a honor for all of us. Lacuna Coil won this award two years ago so we really hope to have their same luck and path... we would be very happy even with half of it!

MUEN: Last year you toured with the Canadian group The Birthday Massacre. How did that go?

It was our first tour in Germany, we met our sound engineer during that tour and met the guys of TBM. They are all very nice and since we are two really different bands I think the shows turned out to be really interesting. It was fun and crazy as every tour!

MUEN: When you are on the road, what sort of things do you like to do with your free time on tour?

My main activity when we are on tour is babysitting the guys of the band!!!!! ahahah Really heavy job ... and I understand now why bands with a girl work better... Other things that we do are eating awful food, buying stupid souvenirs and scaring kids on the street.

MUEN: Do you have anything that you consider a personal highlight in your music career so far?

mmm... just my huge love for music and my big war against family and society just to stand on a stage every once in a while.

MUEN: So as far as THE LOVECRAVE goes, if you could change one thing what would it be?

Well we feel a little tight in the underground; we are not properly an underground band so it would be great to find a major or a big independent label who could work with Repo for us.

MUEN: Who are you listening to these days? And who is your all-time favorites?

I'm listening to some American native's cds in these days, really cool. They bring my head in the desert and breathe a different air. Also I got a couple of cool classical Italian pianists cds.

There are so many bands I love, it would be so hard to name them all. Every band has something to say and if you listen carefully it's easy to enjoy the music.

MUEN: How about your touring plans in the near future?

After the summer festivals we have a short tour in Germany and then we will stop and think about the recordings.

MUEN: What about your dreams and goals?

My dreams are to record with a big orchestra the arrangements of an album, sing a duet with Ozzy Osbourne or Billy Idol, play a show at the Budokan in Tokyo and a show in Piazza San Marco in Venice, make a tour in the States... ahahah dreams are dreams because they hard to reach, aren't they?? ahahah

MUEN: Well our time seems to have run out now. Feel free to end this interview with a message

Well thank you so much for the interview, I hope to meet you around at some gig and keep rockin thats the only way to live a better life!!!

MUEN: Thank you very much!

Ciao!!!
