COPPER HIT THE ROAD IN 2004 PLAYING CLOSE TO 300 SHOWS. THEY SHARED THE STAGE WITH BANDS LIKE SHINEDOWN, SEETHER, CROSSFADE, BREAKING BENJAMIN, AND 30 SECONDS TO MARS. THEIR FIRST SINGLE "BY NOW" WENT TO ACTIVE AND MODERN ROCK RADIO AND CHARTED THE TOP 50 WITHIN 9 WEEKS. WE WERE ABLE TO CATCH UP WITH THEM AND ASK THEM A FEW QUESTIONS FOR OUR READERS...

MUEN: HI! AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TALKING WITH MUEN. LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR CD THE FRAGILE FALL. IS IT YOUR DEBUT CD? WHICH SONGS ARE YOUR HIT SINGLES? Well actually we have another cd before that one called "Exchange." It was an 8 song album, and we didn't really know what we were doing. I guess I would consider "Fragile Fall" to be the first real album. The singles were "By Now" and "Turn." We were going to release "Inside and Out" as a single, but decided not to at the last moment because we lost our drummer at the time.

MUEN: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO EXPERIENCING AS YOU BECOME MORE WELL KNOWN OR FAMOUS? Well, I definitely don't expect to be famous, and it's not really my goal. All I really want is to make music and enjoy what I'm doing. If I happen to make a lot of money in the process, that would be sweet. Being broke sucks!

MUEN: YOU APPEARED ON "FUSE" DAILY DOWLOAD IN 2006 AFTER BEING SELECTED FROM 3,000 PARTICIPANTS IN THE "WE'RE LISTENING CONTEST" - WAS THAT A MILESTONE MOMENT IF YOU WILL, LIKE YOU'VE MADE IT? No way. I never thought that. At the time I was pretty much thinking, don't fuck up. It was great being on national tv, but at the same time it didn't feel like it was real. After all, we won a huge contest to even get on there. I think if we can make it back to being on National tv, it would be from our hard work and not from a contest. It would definitely be more appreciated that way. To be honest my "we've made it" standards are through the roof. We'd have to be doing some pretty incredible things for me to sit back and say that.

MUEN: DO YOU DRAW THE INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR MUSIC FROM REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES? Absolutely. Everything is an influence. I really try to write songs that are really about something going on in my life. It translates better because it actually is real. I want it to have heart and soul, not just some story about anything.

MUEN: WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE ON THE ROAD WHILE YOU’RE ON TOUR? WHAT ‘S THE BEST PART ABOUT BEING ON THE ROAD AND WHAT’S THE WORST? A typical day on the road starts with waking up in a hotel room from the maids yelling Housekeeping!! and pounding on our door. After leaving the hotel, we head toward our next venue, and the first main objective is usually food, then we go through the decision process of figuring out where to eat. When we arrive at the next venue, we load in, sound check(sometimes), we eat again, then we play the show. After the show we find a hotel, and the process starts over again. Of course this is the basic description, it's a lot more fun than it sounds. The best part about it, is traveling to different places and meeting fans. The whole experience is the best thing about it. The worst thing about it, is if you get sick, because you are constantly moving and on the go, you never get better, you just stay sick. Then everyone gets sick, and then everyone is pretty much miserable.

MUEN: I READ THAT YOU SURVIVED A HURRICANE IN FLORIDA WHILE ON TOUR. WHAT WAS THAT LIKE? We had a show booked in Panama City Beach Florida at the end of August last year. Because of the hurricane threat that was going on, I was skeptical that the show would even happen. So we went down there anyway knowing that a hurricane was bearing down on the area. It turns out at the last moment the hurricane turned and faded away. The show went off without a hitch.

MUEN: HOW DO YOU TYPICALLY SPEND YOUR DAYS OFF? We all do different things. I like to play golf, even though I'm horrible. We're big football fans, so every Saturday and Sunday it's all about finding tv's somewhere.

MUEN: WHAT CAN THE FANS EXPECT WHEN THEY COME TO ONE OF YOUR SHOWS? WHAT DO YOU HOPE THEY EXPERIENCE? Hopefully they'll experience a badass rock show! Thats definitely what we try for.

MUEN: WHAT TYPE OF VENUE IS YOUR FAVORITE TO PLAY? MEANING, DO YOU PREFER THE REALLY BIG, MORE INTIMATE SMALLER ONES OR DO YOU PREFER THE OUTDOOR VENUES? I like every venue as long as there's a ton of people filling them up.

MUEN: THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF TRYING TO MAKE IT IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS IS....... Keeping a drummer. ;)

MUEN: WHAT'S NEXT FOR YOU? We are finishing up our new album, and we plan on touring heavily upon it's release. Hopefully we'll see everybody out there!

MUEN: ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD? Thanks for the interview.

MUEN: WE AT MUEN LOVE YOUR MUSIC AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. WE LOOK FORWARD TO CATCHING UP WITH YOU AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. Rock on!
