This ever growing in popularity band that hails from Clearwater Florida is making strides in the music industry. They offer just what the band names says Basic Rock�it's a firm foundation to build upon. Basic Rock Outfit has tapped into that cosmic thread of life, love and pain and the need to understand that it does bind us all.

MUEN: WHAT IS THE NAME OF YOUR BAND AND WHO ARE THE CURRENT MEMBERS?

BRO: Basic Rock Outfit, Jeremy Thomas-lead singer/songwriter/guitarist, Joe Sanders � lead guitarist, Jason Gaines- bass guitarist, Mike Chilton- drums.

MUEN: TELL US ABOUT YOUR OWN UNIQUE STYLE OF MUSIC.

BRO: Our music is not unique. It is what the name of the band describes� Basic Rock Music. I am not trying to be the next kind of music that no one has ever heard like Emo meets Hip Hop. There is reason ROCK music has stood the test of time and for me the bottom line is GOOD SONGS that relate to everyday life. We have soaring melodies on guitars and vocals and the songs have their unique way of conveying a message.

MUEN: WHAT SEPARATES YOUR BAND FROM ALL OTHER BANDS OUT THERE?

BRO: Well we are all seasoned players. We have literally one of the best bass players in the country. We have a lead guitarist that pulls out a violin bow, a singer that cab pull off any song live damn close to the record and a huge backbeat drummer. The other thing is NO PRETENTION. Just guys that LOVE TO ROCK!

MUEN: HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT WRITING SONGS?

BRO: I have many methods and it depends on if I am collaborating or not. Usually a line or thought will start the whole thing. I hear a phrase that catches me and how it relates to life and I think hey that needs to be a song. A melody is usually close behind. I feel that most songs are from another place outside of me and I am just a conduit for the message and melody. That may sound cheesy, but it's really true.

MUEN: PICK ONE OF YOUR LATEST SONGS ABD TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING FROM WRITING IT, MEANINGS, THE CHALLENGES OF RECORDING IT?

BRO: Well the song "Thank you for the pain" the title track has had quite the life. I have recorded it 4 times at different studios and different arrangements. The song came from a conversation with a friend that was hurt badly as a child and they later in life became a counselor for people who had the same experience. The reality came that without the PAIN of what we must go thru, the catalyst for CHANGE in the world would not be there. That situation that hurt the most can somehow bring the greatest change or joy into your life. From a production standpoint the song was really hard to get my full vision for, but ultimately you have to let go as an artist and move on to new songs and new recordings. I love all the recordings of "pain" but I have so many hopes for the song I want to be perfect.

MUEN: WHAT IS THE LATEST NEWS WITH THE BAND?

BRO: We are starting to tour for the next 6 months to really get the CD and the full band experience in front of people. We are chugging along and we need some help from radio,a few stations have picked us up and that is really exciting.
