2001 Dodge Durango SLT
4.7 OHC V-8
Part-Time 4WD
We recently accuired a 2001 Dodge Durango for a family car and the wife's daily driver.  It has the 3rd seat that folds down in back which we use pretty often.  It's working out real well especially since it sets high and my wife is short so she loves driving it as she can see in traffic.  It has these killer stereo controls on the back of the steering wheel that gives you total control of the unit including the Cassette and the CD.
Took it out Four-Wheeling a while back in Western Maryland.  Does pretty good for a station wagon, but could use a little more ground clearance for traversing those big ditches and hills.  It does have the same drivetrain as a the Grand Cherokee, so it has a proven hertiage.  Click on the Sand Hill thumbnail above for a good shot hill climbing.
The exhaust has that charactristic Deep Rumble Sound that Dodge is designing into thier line that actually sounds prety good.  It has good road manners and great visibility to sides and rear.  It's definatly the most popular car in the household right now as we both want to drive it on weekends.
Our Durango has the 3.55 to 1 axle ratios with positraction in the rear with the big 31 inch tires (265-60R-16) with the new design 4.7L V-8 so it get a little better miliage than some of the other Durangos with the bigger 5.9L V-8 (the old 360c.i.) engine.  Even with the small engine, accelleration is pretty darn good and makes the tuned exhaust system roar loud and gets a few heads turned as you go by.
We really like our new Durango, we've named it "Chili".
