Aug 21, 2004Well, the results are in! I dont know how many of you watched tonights headbangers ball but it was awesome. Dimmu Borgir even made it on the top 20 videos. Best of all Mudvayne topped out at number 2 beating slipknot by one place and falling under slayer! I was hoping for number one but you take what you can get, right? Aug 16, 2004Its your old pal David (Coagulation) with some more news. First off, they guys have finished recording the new album and post productions will start soon. Also, the mudvayne logo contest is over. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I think my logo will favor pretty well. But the outcome is to be seen , I suppose. Finally, the video "Dig" is up for Best Metal Videos of the New Millennium (so far). Please head over to this site and vote for mudvayne. There is a new album comming out and the guys need to be seen again! Plus its a great video. Has a "new age" look to it. Keep comming back for up to date news!
Aug 13, 2004I just read some great news! Seems as though mudvayne may be heading the next Headbangers Ball tour!! That will be a show that can not be missed. Well just keeping you guys up to date on all the happenings. thanks to blabbermouth.net for having that up with a quickness.
Aug 11, 2004There is a tour rumor that comes from the mouth of Dani from Cradle of filth. Apparently there have been talks about a tour with mudvayne after mudvayne finishes recording. Other bands on the bill may be: Satyricon and Luna Coil. Himsa and Bleeding through are also being considered. This will only be a 6 week tour, so in my opinion it may not be mudvayne's album support tour. They typically spend more time in the U.S. but one can never tell. Well, just giving you the heads up on the news as it happens. Later, maniacs.
July 30, 2004This is awesome!!! Matt is having a contest, you design the kit he plays! You also win crap in the process! Ok, here is the deal you have to join perls forum but it will be worth a shot. Just go here and read up on what you got to do: IT'S IN YOUR HANDS NOW! Also, don't forget, those of you who entered the logo contest the results come in a couple of weeks. Good luck you all and I hope I take home the gold! :-D

June 24, 2004CHRIS IS HERE! And he's got some Mudvayne news. After four months of songwriting and one week of pre-production Mudvayne is now recording their album with Dave Fortman! Also, hardrockers Bloodsimple have signed to Bullygoat Records which was founded by Chad Grey. Commenting on them, Grey had this to say: "Last year, Bloodsimple opened for Mudvayne in Philadelphia, and it was there that I first saw them perform. It didn't take long for me to understand that they have the songs, energy, and live performance as well as the ability to captivate an audience." That's it for now. Check these links, and more news on the guys later! Read the rest at: www.mudvayne.com. For more on Bloodsimple: www.bloodsimpleband.com. For more on Bullygoat Records: www.bullygoat.com. And listen to music and join the streeteam: www.thestreetnetwork.com.
June 2, 2004OK! Big news! Album is finished. Guys are going back home to rest up and prep for production. Also, major hate-mail alert!!! check this out: Ryan covered up. Get to that site and send some complaints to the panzies that were afraid of a little \m/. Get on the message board and get talking guys!
May 12, 2004Seems like the previously reported producer wasnt chosen and they went with Dave Fortman. Chad was quoted saying: "We've been extremely fortunate to work with some amazing producers Garth Richardson captured the band's raw energy on the first record and David Bottrill gave our music a three-dimensional quality on the second record. For this record, we asked Dave Fortman to produce because we wanted someone who can bring both of those elements together into a sound that's brutal and beautiful."
April 19, 2004The producer has been chosen for the new album,Toby Wright (KORN, ALICE IN CHAINS, SEVENDUST, SOULFLY). Regarding the album Ryan commentend, "Our goal for the third album is to make music that pleases us because if it makes us happy then the rest will take care of itself."
March 29, 2004A suprise occured the 28 when mudvayne was mentioned on The Sopranos. The main actor apparently is a fan. The guys made the following statements: Greg:"...It was like a pop culture stamp of approval on the band." Matt:"What is especially gratifying for Mudvayne, is that the band was not looking for recognition... we don't want to debase our music by making a spectacle of the band...It's much more satisfying to creep into public consciousness this way – on our own terms. " (Matt always has a way with words) Chad:"But don't expect Mudvayne to go Hollywood any time soon. The glitz and glamour is the exact opposite of what we're about. We went to the premiere of 'Ghost Ship'...It was a surreal, out-of-body experience standing on the red carpet talking to people like Paula Abdul and Entertainment Tonight." Also, I'm not sure if you are aware, but there has been a tribute album put out in September of 2003: check it out . Well, another one is surfacing with mudvayne dont with a string quartet: chech it out . Well, there you go. Great news for all. Now go get those CD's and someone do a review in the recent purchase thread.
March 25, 2004Hey all you maniacs! This is Chris here with some good news about Mudvayne and the new album: After opening for METALLICA on the band's Summer Sanitarium tour, MUDVAYNE spent the holidays recuperating before starting work on the quartet's third, as-yet-untitled, Epic Records release. Scheduled for this fall, the upcoming album follows the success of MUDVAYNE's first two albums — "L.D. 50" (2000) and "The End of All Things to Come" (2002) — both of which were certified gold. Singer Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matt McDonough recently rented a ranch in northern California and converted its multi-stall garage into a makeshift studio where they are working on new music. Despite the relaxing backdrop, the band is pushing itself hard and has already written half of the music for the album. "Establishing clear goals for each song has been the key to MUDVAYNE's quick results," McDonough says. "It's a strange contradiction, but it can be very liberating to set limitations on creativity as long as you don't let those limitations define you," he explains. "It frees up a lot of creative energy when you stop pulling an idea in fifty different directions and start pushing it in one." It only took Gray a few days to finish lyrics for the first song — a track that encapsulates the undisclosed meaning behind the album. "I spent my time off thinking about the themes we wanted to explore on this album," he says. "When I got to California, that first song just came pouring out of me. It really is an overview of what the album is about." While the band is characteristically mysterious about the ideas behind the new album, McDonough says the music will reflect a refinement of MUDVAYNE's complexly structured hard rock balanced against more melody than any previous album. Martinie adds "Our goal for the third album is to make music that pleases us because if it makes us happy then the rest will take care of itself." That's it for now. More news to come!
March 24, 2004Sad news from the Mudvayne camp. The former manager for Mudvayne has passed away from brain cancer. The guys have lost 2 friends this year and I'm sure this is making an impact on them. Mud Maniacs would like to wish the best of luck to the guys in this rough time.
March 1, 2004Ok, just got some big news: 1. Mudvayne is doing the logo contest: info here 2. Ryan is on the Warwick DVD along with some other Warwick bass players 3. Greg Waterman, Mudvayne's photographer, has done on interview. check it out. 4. Mudvayne would like to thank all the fans and people who donated to the Warren foundation. The raised $6000 for expenses. About 600 attended the benefit.

January 26, 2004All is quiet in the mudvayne camp lately. They guys have been on tour from about 4 years and are taking a much needed break. I'm glad the guys could get some down time with their girlfriends and Greg can see his dogs (for those that have seen "All Access" get what I mean). We'll let you know if anything happens. |
