Great shopping, great diving, great water rafting and everything else in Bali, Indonesia. Five of us went there during end of 2004. We spend around a week there, with a few days of diving in Tulamben area (click here to see) and the spend the rest sight seeing and water rafting. After the fateful bombing there a few years ago, tourism has been picking up and we went glad to see many tourists there, enjoying not just the great sights and sounds, but also the warmth and friendliness of the inhibitants of the island.

Day 1-3:
The ride to Tulamben was a long 2 hoursfrom the airport! Since we chose to dive at that area for a few days, we thought it would be better to stay around that area to cut down on our travelling time. Mimpi resort is a wonderful place with sea facing views, spa and outdoor bathroom. It was very relaxing to just laze by the wooden seats and admiring the sea, while occassionally have a dip in the pool, and more even so if you have a massage by the pool.

Day 4-6:
We embarked on a water rafting trip when we reached Kuta, the main town of Bali. The exhilariting ride down the river with frequent shouts of "bom boms!" whenever our raft hit the edge of cliffs and a 3m drop made it one hell of a ride. It was so much fun! Of course all the fun and laughter made us hungry and at night we ventured to Jimbaran (a short cab ride from Kuta) for a sumptous seafood feast, yummy... the dinner by the beach at sunset was truly romantic. The last few days were spend at Kuta busy shopping and eating. The streets were lined with shops after shops. It was just pure sadness when we finally had to leave for home...
