Polymer Clay
For quite a few years I have been interested in all forms of sculpture. My prefered medium is clay but its been quite a few years until I have access to a kiln.
Discovering polymer clay was a great bonus for me. It is a medium that comes in a huge array of colours and can be easily cooked hard at low temperatures in a normal house hold oven.
There is a huge resouce of ideas and tutorials on the web, I decided to collect various links on one page as opposed to printed out everything that I admired.
Faux minerals
labradorite
howlite
abalone
agate
Some very natural effects can be made with polymer clay depending on the skill of the artist. The pictures below are of the actual mineral as opposed to a faux creation, I thought this the best option as some of the results are more acurate than others.
goldstone
Millefiori Caning
leaf cane
feather cane
A technique in which clay is layered or arranged to create images in clay. When the roll or log is sliced, you will get the same image from one end to the other. These images may be miniaturized by applying pressure to the sides of cane, then gently stretching the cane out.
