Timbre Project
to
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

Select a person of Hispanic or Latino heritage and create a postage stamp design to honor their work, accomplishments, struggles and gifts to the world. Make it a design you are proud to share, one that will educate others about your special person.

How to begin:

1. Select a person, one you have never heard of or know little about.

2. Print information about person if it is from the Internet; copy pages from a book or newspaper. This will be stamped in class for credit.

2. Read and highlight facts you would like to remember about this person.

3. Look at postage stamp designs and notice the details used to make the design, colors, shapes, information.

4. Design a postage stamp using paper, markers, scissors, magazines, and your imagination. Make it one that will
CELEBRATE AND EDUCATE!
Si se puede!

With your permission, we will post your design on our web page and
"quien sabe", the US Postal Service may notice your design and create a new stamp using your idea!
