| Welcome to Gonzo's Page! He is a Bronze Winged Pionus. Well, its estimated that Gonzo is about 3 years old. I bought Gonzo from Jimmy and Andrea when they decided to reduce their own flock. I had told Jimmy previously that I really liked this guy. I don't know that they would have parted with him if they couldn't keep track of him on a regular basis. (Don't tell him I told you so, but I think Jimmy cried after I left with Gonzo.) On a trip to Jimmy's for some other unknown reason, I made some comment about wanting Gonzo and he did the right thing by calling me first. I would have killed him if he would have not offered him to me first! LOL I don't know what to tell you about Gonz to make you understand how special he is. I love ALL my flock but there is just "something" about him that is different for me. He and I just connect. I told Jimmy not long after bringing him home that THIS was the bird I had been needing my whole life. I really think its mutual between he and I. We just click, have a bond, connect...however you want to say it. He is maybe a little bigger than my Patagonian Conure. They really are similar in size but Gonzo is heavier bodied than Sarge. Sarge also has a long tail, where Gonzo doesn't. He is a great eater and if you want to see something funny, put a peanut where he can see it and watch him wiggle/run to get to it. He DOES love his peanuts. He is a very quiet bird and I highly recommend the breed if you need something with low noise level. He does talk some. He says "hello" and "good boy" and has several different whistles he makes on a repetative basis. I think in time he will pick up even more words. His coloring doesn't show in the pictures as vibrant as he is in real life. He has the most amazing colors that just shine when he is in the natural sunlight. He is my baby and I am so glad that Jimmy and Andrea gave me the opportunity to bring him home. Just like all my other flock, he is in his forever home here. |
