Home Family Birth Story Baby Events Pictures First B-Day
November 1: Shayna was born at 2:40 p.m. at WomenCare Birth Center in Hurricane, West Virginia. Shayna weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces and is 20 3/4 inches long. GrammyJan and GranPaul Fox, Grandma and Granddad Torreyson, and Aunt Briana come to welcome Shayna.
November 2: First doctor's appointment to make sure there is no Strep B infection. Shayna weighs 7 pounds 9 ounces.
November 3: Grandma and Granddad Torreyson leave to go home.
November 4: Nurse June makes a home visit to check up on Shayna and Mom. Both are doing great!
November 5: Shayna has her first bath.
November 6: GrammyJan and GranPaul Fox and Aunt Briana leave to go home.
November 8: Shayna has her hearing test at the hospital. Both ears pass at the same time. Also, she has another doctor's appointment. She weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces. She continues to do great!
November 9: Dad goes back to work for the first time after the birth of Shayna. GrammyJan Fox comes to visit to help us out. Thank goodness!
November 12: First spit up all over GrammyJan Fox back.
November 13: First outing to furniture store. GrammyJan Fox takes care of Shayna will Mom, Dad, and Shayna pick out new furniture.
November 14: GrammyJan Fox goes back home.
November 15: Mom and Shayna spend first day alone together. Everything goes smoothly.
November 16: Mom and Shayna make a visit to a lactation specialist to help out with breastfeeding. Shayna weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces.
November 19: Shayna's umbilical cord falls off...she has a belly button.
November 20: Shayna lifts her head.
November 21: First walk around the neighborhood.
November 23: Another doctor's appointment. Shayna weighs 8 pounds 14 ounces.
November 24: GrammyJan and GranPaul Fox, Aunt Briana, Uncle Chad, and Great Grandmom Grumbach come to visit for Thanksgiving.
November 25: THANKSGIVING! Aunt Briana, GrammyJan Fox, and Great Grandmom Grumbach start to prepare dinner.
November 26: Grandmom and Granddad Torreyson and Great Grandparents Shepherd visit for the day. We all celebrate Thanksgiving today. Mom and Dad start decorating the house for Christmas.
November 27: Aunt Briana, Uncle Chad, GrammyJan and GranPaul Fox, and Great Grandmom Grumbach leave to go home.
November 29: We take Shayna to the doctors after a long night of no sleep and a lot of fussiness. Shayna is congested. The doctor tells us to give her over the counter medicine (it works). Shayna weighs 9 pounds 8 ounces.
November 30: GranPaul Fox's birthday.
