Speaking directly to her audience, Angelyn DeBord creates an intimate performance atmosphere. Oftentimes the audience members are invited to become participants in the show.  The pace for all performances is high-energy with moments for reflection.

STUBBORN MEMORIES:  For adult audiences, Enjoying a close proximity to the audience, this original play, based on the life of a woman growing up in an extended family in an isolated area of the Smokey Mountains, is a high energy performance, full of lilting imagery, music, and dancing.   In this play, Nancy Strange, Knoxville musician and vocalist, weaves in music of the guitar and banjo and sings popular songs, ballads and traditional hymns indicative of the Appalachian culture in the 1950s.

 

HOMEMADE TALES a fast-paced performance of traditional mountain stories: Appropriate for any age, HOMEMADE TALES, is an energetic, humorous collection of folk stories, laced with real-life memories and a strong emphasis on Appalachian culture and dialect.
