Maggie Dishman began playing the flute in 1989, in her hometown of Woodstock Vermont . All through High School Maggie was very active in music. She participated in several district and state honor bands. In 1997 Maggie began studying flute at the College of Charleston in Charleston South Carolina , under Tracy Edwards, flautist and piccoloist for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. While at the College of Charleston she played with the Charleston Community Orchestra, Metropolitan Orchestra, and started the Palmetto Trio which played for parties, receptions, and weddings. In the spring of 2001 Maggie graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Performance for flute.

Soon after, Maggie moved to Colorado . There she began teaching private lessons for flute. She became a member of the Summit Concert Band, the Alpine Orchestra, and the Mountain Minstrels of Colorado .

Maggie is a third generation Irish descendant from the O’Keefe and O’Reily clans. Both families hail from county Cork Ireland , arriving in New York City in the late 1800’s. Maggie has always enjoyed Irish and Celtic music
