| I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1975 where I remained until 1998. Upon completion of my B.Sc. in environmental sciences from the University of Winnipeg, I decided that it would be a good idea to move to Banff, Alberta. After a year of odd jobs in the service industry, hiking, biking and snowboarding, I decided that I would go back to school. So, I went. Fearing I would never leave academia, I applied for and obtained a job as a National Park Warden in Banff National Park. Nine months of working as a warden and writing my thesis was enough. I defended my MSc. in the fall of 2002. I now work as a park warden in the Fire and Vegetation Management Section of Banff National Park, while still trying to keep hiking, biking snowboarding and other mountain fun in my life. What's next, who knows? |
