For a finish I wanted something durable so I used stone guard (which comes in aerosols and is intended for use on car rocker panels). So far it seems to be holding up well.

| Custom Tailgate for my 1997 Ranger | ||||||||
| I do a lot of driving with this truck and I wanted a tailgate that would allow more airflow. I built this one out of scrap from the local junkyard, with the exception of the expanded mesh which was difficult to find. The tailgate was built to use all the factory mountings, latches, etc., so it slips right in place of the factory tailgate.
