| Backing Plate for Four-Jaw Chuck | ||||||||||
| One of the problems with the Craftex combination mill/lathe is that it doesn't come with an independent four-jaw chuck. As a matter of fact you can't buy one for it, at least from the Canadian dealer Busy Bee. (If you're only going to include one chuck with a machine package, you would think it would be a four-jaw!) I bought a universal chuck from a small dealer in Halifax and made the backing plate shown below to fit my lathe. (One of these days I am going to remember to take pictures as I make the stuff!). I was very pleased with the end result and with how true it ran. |
