Manheim Township (5) vs.
Strasburg-Willow Street (1)
SWS drew first blood in the top of the first inning, when a
passed by scored a runner who had advanced to third base via a single by his
teammate. That would be the only run that SWS would score in that inning
(and subsequently, in the entire game). Township would not be able to
score any runs for the first three inning. And then, in the third inning a
series of hits by Township players Josh Bucher, Andy Dochterman, Dane Yoder, and
Austin Gallagher would serve to put Township ahead by a score of 2-1. Dane
Yoder's pitching shut down SWS in the fifth and sixth inning. In the
bottom of the sixth inning, Township had another big inning, scoring three more
runs and taking a 5-1 lead. SWS would be unable to come back from this
defecit, giving Township another league win. Winning pitcher for Manheim
Township was Dane Yoder, who pitched a complete game and allowed only one run
the entire game, and no runs through six straigt innings of
play.
