Manheim Township
(6) vs. Lititz (0)

After beating Ephrata to make it to the League Finals, Township knew they were in a tough situation.  All Lititz had to do was to win tonight's game to be crowned League Champions.  Township desperately needed win in order to give Lititz their first loss of the tournament and force a second championship game.  Doing the pitching for Township was Alex Sota.  Sota was able to hold Lititz at zero runs for the entire game.  This was thanks in part to an outstanding defense backing him up.  In the fourth inning with two outs, a runner on second and a power hitter at the plate for Lititz, Pete Andrelczyk made a diving catch in the outfield to get out of the inning allowing no runs.  Andrelczyk would have another run saving catch in the sixth inning.  Andy Dochterman and Austin Gallagher pioneered the infield when Andy Dochterman dove to field a ball, throwing the runner out at first from his knees.  The game was scoreless when Township came up to bat in the sixth inning.  However, an onslaught was about to begin.  The inning started when Andy Dochterman walked to put a runner on first with no outs.  Dane Yoder followed with yet another walk.  Shawn Keller then bunted a ball down the first base line that forced the first basemen and pitcher to both go for the ball, meaning nobody was at first, loading the bases with no outs.  Lititz then made a pitching change.  This change turned out to bad rather than good, because Austin Gallagher (the first batter he faced) walked to force in the first run of the game.  With the bases loaded and in the same situation, George Eager layed down a perfect bunt to score another run and keep the bases loaded for Pete Andrelczyk.  Andrelczyk ripped a single, bringing around two runs, making the score 4-0 with only 1 out.  Andrew Smoker then reached first after being hit by a pitch.  Josh Bucher then came up and hit a single, scoring two runs.  By the time the last out was reached, the score was 6-0 Township with Lititiz coming up to their final at-bat to even the score.  Sota got three consecutive batters out in a row to end the inning and the game.  With this win, Township forces a second Championship game, who's winner will be crowned District 10 League Champions and will continue play in the Regional Tournament that starts Tuesday, July 27th at Fayettesville.  Alex Sota finished with only 78 pitches and no walks to run his record to 7-0 for the season.
