Township
(12)
vs. E-Town (1)
Township wasted no time securing a lead. In the first inning, Township scored four runs, thanks to singles by Andy Dochterman and Andrew Smoker. Dane Yoder followed Dochterman and Smoker with a walk. Shawn Keller then hit a sacrifice fly to score Dochterman. Jared Ellis stepped to the plate and hit a single that scored two more runs. Township's final run of the inning came when Jared Ellis scored on Josh Buncher's stolen base. Alex Sota took the mound in the first inning and allowed no runs, no hits, and no men on base. The second inning, proved to be equally productive for Township. Sean Rigney lead off the inning with a walk, while Pete Andrelczyk reached first on a fielder's choice. Andrelczyk then stole second base just in time for Andy Dochterman to hit another single, scoring Andrelczyk. Dochterman then advanced to third base on Andrew Smoker's groundout. On the next pitch, Dochterman stole home base, to secure another run for Township. In the second and third innings, Sota still allowed no runs, no hits, and no men on base. Township would have another scoring inning in the fourth, when Shawn Keller knocked in another run with a base hit. Alex Sota still allowed no hits, no runs, and no men on base in the fourth, hence, throwing a perfect game through four innings. However, by the sixth inning, Sota's perfect game subsided to a No-Hitter. Unfortunately, two weak infield hits in the sixth inning, ruined Sota's no-hitter. During Sota's entire six innings of pitching, he allowed only 3 hits, striking out 9 and walking only 3, and allowing just 1 run to score. Andy Dochterman lead of the sixth inning for Township with a single and a stolen base to put him on second. Dane Yoder, then hit a single, which knocked in Dochterman. Shawn Keller had yet another base hit in the sixth, followed by Josh Bucher, who's single knocked in Yoder. In the seventh inning, consecutive singles by Tom DeLellis and Andy Dochterman, put runners on first and third for Andrew Smoker, who then hit a double that scored both runners. Yoder followed with his own double and two RBI's for himself. Sean Rigney closed out the game for Township, allowing no runs in the seventh with 2 strike outs.
