Alaska or Bust!

The Last Frontier

After my 12 months in Korea, Julie and I will be moving to Alaska, The Last Frontier. I will be returning to Tallahasse in July, 2001 and we plan to depart Tallahassee about the first week of August. From there we will take advantage of this once in a lifetime oppurtunity to drive across the country and through Canada into Alaska.
We plan to meander across the midwest, stopping as we will, at any neat sites. Currently, we are hoping to take the northern route, and stop in at Chicago, Mt. Rushmore, and Seattle. But, being that it is a year away, I'm sure our plans will change.
When we finally do make it to Anchorage, I will be working at Elmendorf Air Force Base, assigned to the 19th Fighter Squadron, The Flying Gamecocks. I will be maintaing the F-15C aircraft. Julie and I are both looking forward to this move, yet we are both reluctant as well, for it is a long ways from home. We both have friends up in Alaska already, and everybody we talk to loves it. I'm told after a year of hunting, fishing, and skiing, there is no other place that I would want to be. We are definately looking forward to it! Anchorage, AK and Elmendorf AFB is the place that Julie and I will be calling home for the next four years, so keep us in your prayers. Please visit this link often, I will try to update it with the latest and greatest about our adventures to Alaska. MIKe
