      Your report should be at least 2 typed pages or 3 hand –written pages.

It should be in 5 paragraph essay form.

      1. Opening ( Introductory) paragraph  (Hooks your readers in— Paragraph 1)

      2. Body of the research report. ( Information and details—Paragraphs 2 to 4)

      3. Closing paragraph. ( Your final points of interest  -  Paragraph 5)

You should add pictures to your report, there are many pictures on the web sites I have provided for you.

 

Use the graphic organizer to help organize notes. (See Graphic Organizer Page)

You will need to answer the questions below as you research your chosen planet.

I have provided information to help you answer some of these questions by giving you a website to visit to help you find your answers.  If there are no websites listed after the question, then a number of the websites have the same information.

 

1.       How did the solar system form?

2.       Explain how a planet might form.

3.   What does your planet look like?  Color, Shape, Size? Give details.

4.       What type of atmosphere does it have?

5.       What does the surface look like? Give details.

6.   Is your planet an “inner” or “outer” planet?( Go to ZOOM  - Click on “All       about our Solar System”)

7.   What does an inner or outer planet mean? ( See ZOOM)

8.       What does your planets’ name mean? 

      Can you find out who it was named after?

9.   Does your planet have a satellite or moon? How many? Do they have a name?

10. What is an orbit?

11. What is the shape of the orbit the planets revolve in?

12.    Is your planet visible using just your eyes, or do you need a telescope to see it?

13. Was there ever a “Space Mission “ to try to reach your planet?                                                   Which one?    When?

14.  Give as much other interesting information as you can about your planet.
