5) Love U of M more than you love winning - it is during adversity when you are needed most
6) Be a FAN - there are plenty of "experts" already
7) Never criticize the university in public. Instead, relay criticisms and suggestions to U of M officials
8) Support Conference USA
9) Ask not what U of M can do for you but what you can do for the university
10) Have pride, loyalty and sportsmanship
The University of Memphis continues to progress in the most exciting era of its 96 year history! This year's football team is poised to "roar back" into postseason play and make it five bowls in the last six years and a C-USA championship. Tiger basketball, after two previous maginificent seasons, which featured C-USA championships, consecutive Top 10 attendance marks, two-straight exciting runs to the Elite 8, came within two plays of a 40-win national championship season and is reaping yet another harvest of championship-caliber recruits and will continue to be talent-rich as we play in the newest and finest basketball arena in the world - FedEx Forum. As season ticket sales soar and contributions reach all-time highs, the bar continues to be raised. Baseball and other Spring sports completed unusually successful season , millions of dollars worth of campus construction projects are now completed and, with the completion of the FedEx Research Institute, UofM continues the announced goal of developing UofM into "one of the nation's premiere urban research universities". Perhaps most exciting is the amazing growth and development of Conference USA as a geograhically-sensible 12-school, all-sports conference comprised of a blend of schools having tradition, academic excellence, large markets and championship potential in many sports.
