| Vandalism has been an ongoing problem in maintaining and preserving the Monument of Christ and the Shrines of Our Lady of Fatima and the Virgin of Guadalupe located on Mt. Cristo Rey. Recent damage has destroyed the facial features of the both Virgin shrines and has left us no option but to build barriers around the shrines to ensure that they are not damaged any further. The tile images will be replaced and protective grottos built around them. These measures are necessary in order to preserve these monuments for future generations. If you would like to help out, the committee is selling tiles, similar to the ones originally installed on the base of the Statue of Christ. These tiles will be placed on the North and South side walls of the base. These tiles measure 4"x6" and can be inscribed with a three line message of your choice and can be up to 40 characters.
