Webpage News
Ok. now this page has been taken over by a 16 year old boy and needless to say there are going to be a few changes.  This page is the first of these changes.  Another change is that I will be doing things diferently from the way they were.  If  you have any sugjestions please send me an e-mail at [email protected] and I will do my best to change things and keep everyone as happy as I can.  Feel free to be as critical as you wan't because if I don't know what you don't like, I can't change it.
Open House Night!
In the Very recent past we were telling non-members that they could come out and shoot on JOAD Night, Unfortunately this is no longer the case as we have seen a great growth in our JOAD program.  However because of this we have dcided to start a Free Open House Night at which anyone who shoots a bow, or has any iterest in learning how to, is welcome.  For people who are learning to shoot for the first time or people still not quite ready to go spend a bunch of money on a sport that they are still just getting into their will be equipment available for them to use for the night at no charge.  On most, if not all, nights be at least one of our clubs two Level 2 JOAD coaches and Chances are that their will be other people knolegable on the topic of archery there as well.
Sorry
Sorry I haven't been able to get things updated lately.  I've been a little busy.
Nile 3D
Well the Nile 3D shoot went well considering the weather.  On Friday night and Saturday it snowed about 3 inches.  One of the things that I heard was that it was "Just like hunting... in November".  Sunday however was a different story,  it was realy quite pleasant.  The whole "No trophies for the adults" thing worked quite well and we heard no complaints about it.  Unfortunately there weren't very many kids there so all of them that came got a first place trophy, even if they didn't shoot (a baby who I don't think could even walk got one).
JOAD Camp
Again, sorry.  This time because I forgot all about puting this up on the webpage.  No we didn't put this on but Dallas and Leonard Balt, my father (Dan) and I went to a JOAD camp over on the coast.  There were several high level coaches including Loyd Brown who is THE mens olympic coach, and Glenn Harris who is the assistant olympic coach just to name two.  Also Brian Funston, an archer in the resident athlete program (and currently ranked 4th in the country) and his personal coach, Mike, were there.  Both Dallas and I got 1 on 1 instruction with Coach Brown (with me it was really more like 4 on 1 with Coach brown, Brian, Mike, and the regional JOAD director).  The weekend consisted mainly of classes and seminars.  We also did some shooting.  We shot a team shoot in which I was on the winning team and the next morning we shot an Olympic round, Dallas won his age group and I came in fourth in mine, I lost to a guy shooting a compound, scope, and release all of which would have put him in a diferent class than me.  We learned a lot and I have redoubled my efforts to reach an olympic level.
